the zoot suit Samus meme is interesting because Tom & Jerry's Hep Kats (1943) is really the first "metroidvania." The early route into the girl's house is closed off, so Tom has to collect pieces of more powerful gear and then backtrack. I am making this post specifically to piss off 2-3 game devs.

I really feel like people who completely dismiss the need for psychiatric medication don’t understand the reality of severe & enduring mental illness. Therapy and lifestyle changes help with my bipolar, but nothing has the impact medication does. Psychosis isn’t cured with yoga.
