Tariffs and putting up walls is a lose-lose. We need to make the case for internationalism and open trade around the world. I told @morningjoe-msnbc.bsky.social why it’s important that the UK and London stay close with the USA.

London’s diversity makes us richer. At a time when protectionism, nativism and fear is putting up walls, it’s never been more important that we carry on putting up bridges.

Delivering affordable new homes for Londoners remains a top priority for me. This new housing development in Enfield will provide much-needed and genuinely affordable new homes, alongside green spaces and first-class facilities for the wider community:

This Friday in Trafalgar Square: The Passion of Jesus by Wintershall Play returns—a powerful retelling of the Easter story, performed live by a cast of over 100 actors and volunteers.

I’m determined to do everything in my power to make housing more affordable and sustainable for Londoners. That’s why I’m partnering with Vistry Group to deliver 284 new homes at North Middlesex University Hospital—a 100 percent genuinely affordable housing scheme.

Lower bills. Brighter futures. 38 London schools will save up to £15k a year on energy costs with funding for solar panels and heat pumps thanks to our Greener Schools project. Freeing up their money for children’s education while protecting the environment.

Youth hubs and clubs are places young people can go to thrive, not just survive. My Violence Reduction Unit is investing £1m in positive opportunities like sports and cooking for young Londoners during the holidays and beyond. I visited Avenues Youth Project to see the difference it’s making.

Global cooperation on the climate crisis has never been more important. I was delighted to welcome the Governor of Nairobi Johnson Sakaja to City Hall today and discuss how our cities can work more closely together to reduce the impact of the climate emergency.

London schools are going greener—and saving money. Today I revealed which schools will receive our Greener Schools funding to help them cut energy bills and carbon emissions, so more can be spent on what matters most.

Delighted to announce the first schools benefiting from my new Greener Schools funding—helping to cut energy costs, reduce emissions and free up funding for vital resources like books, tech and staff.

Wishing a joyous and prosperous New Year to all Tamil and Sinhalese Londoners and all those celebrating around the world.

City Hall has partnered with Outernet to celebrate Vaisakhi in the heart of London today. Wishing all those celebrating a very Happy Vaisakhi. Vaisakhi di lakh lakh vidaiya!

I want schools to spend their money on books, not energy bills. I'm proud to announce the first schools across London that will get help to cut energy bills and spend more on books, technology and staff while tackling air pollution and cutting carbon.

To Sikh Londoners and everyone celebrating: Happy Vaisakhi. Vaisakhi is the most significant festival in the Sikh calendar, a time to celebrate values of unity, justice & community. Don’t miss London’s Vaisakhi celebrations on Trafalgar Square this Saturday—everyone is welcome.

London is the undisputed capital of women’s sport—I can’t wait to see what this summer will bring 🏈🎾

Incredible atmosphere at today’s Boat Race 🚣 I’m pleased that the organisers and the rowers are on board with my London Rivers Pledge to clean up the Thames so it can be enjoyed safely by everyone.

Great to be at the Boat Race—one of the world’s most iconic sporting events—and to speak to Clare Balding about our plans to clean up London’s waterways. The organisers and the rowers have signed my London Rivers Pledge to help make sure the Thames can be enjoyed for years to come.

I’m proud to have the Boat Race showcasing London and our country’s sporting excellence to the world. Today we celebrate 10 years of women racing on the Championship Course—another example of London as the undisputed global capital for women’s sport.

We all want an Oxford Street that we can be proud of. I’m inviting Londoners to have their say on our proposals for the future of the capital’s most iconic high street. Share your views before the deadline on 2 May:

A few weeks ago, I caught up with Steve Backshall at Walthamstow Wetlands to hear from him about how we can make London’s rivers something we can all be proud of. Ahead of tomorrow’s Boat Race, watch this ⬇️

It’s shocking how polluted our waterways have become—but we plan to turn this around. It’s great to see the 25km Tideway Tunnel ‘super sewer’ is now operational, and it’s making a real difference to water quality in central London. Here’s how ⤵️

As Oxford and Cambridge rowers take to the Thames tomorrow for the world-renowned Boat Race, take a minute to find out why it’s so vital to clean up our rivers ⬇️

Transport for London has a proud and long-standing relationship with British Steel. The future of the industry is important to London. I'm pleased the Government is taking action to protect its future.

The Passover story is a powerful tribute to the enduring faith and resilience of the Jewish community. I’d like to send my warmest wishes to Jewish Londoners and our Jewish friends around the world as Passover begins. Chag Pesach Sameach!

What the London Growth Plan means for Londoners: ➡️ Helping create tens of thousands of jobs ➡️ Building more affordable homes ➡️ Delivering major new transport upgrades ➡️ Revitalising high streets ➡️ Backing business and innovation

Natty Can Cook is one of London’s most promising chefs, who aims to become the first chef to get a Michelin star for cooking Caribbean food. He joined me and young people at the Avenues Youth Project to share his cooking skills and his inspiring story.

London’s Sikh and Punjabi communities make an invaluable contribution to our capital, and I’m thrilled to welcome back Vaisakhi on the Square on 19 April. The festival is a wonderful example of how we celebrate the many communities that make our city a beacon of inclusivity.

Nothing beats summer in London. Al-fresco dining and late-night openings could help Londoners and businesses make the most of it. City Hall will work with boroughs so we can see more of it this summer. www.standard.co.uk/news/london/...

London’s creative industries are vital for our economy. I’m proud to support these talented early-career fashion designers through the Fashion Residency at Studio Smithfield. It’s a unique partnership with Projekt and the Paul Smith Foundation, supported by British GQ.

I have been clear that we can’t arrest our way out of violence and its complex causes. A key part of my approach to tackling these issues is investing in prevention and positive opportunities through my London Violence Reduction Unit, and providing record investment in policing for enforcement.

My @london-vru.bsky.social is investing a further £1m in sports provision to ensure children and young people are safe, thriving and have access to positive opportunities that benefit their physical and mental health over the easter holidays and the rest of the year.

Youth clubs like Avenues Youth Project do incredible work with young Londoners to keep them safe and help them thrive. My London VRU is funding sport and physical activity sessions like this during the holidays and throughout the year to ensure young people have access to positive opportunities.

Applications are now open for my Community Weekend this September. In partnership with the National Lottery Community Fund, we’re inviting groups to apply for grants of up to £2,000 to support community-led events that bring Londoners together. See more:

The Silvertown Tunnel is the first road crossing east of Tower Bridge since 1991. It will reduce journey times, help manage pollution levels and improve public transport connections across the river.

New research from UCL is further evidence that exposure to harmful pollutants can damage the brain health of older people. By tackling air pollution, we can help protect Londoners’ health at every stage of life.

The Silvertown Tunnel creates a vital link between South and East London, helping to manage air pollution levels and congestion. Cyclists and pedestrians can cross the river by bus through the tunnel, and it’s free for at least a year.

The Silvertown Tunnel is officially open. This new connection will transform travel across the Thames in East London—cutting journey times, improving congestion and boosting greener ways to get around, including by bus and bike.

Officially open today, the new Silvertown Tunnel will help to improve congestion and air quality around the Blackwall Tunnels. Here’s everything you need to know ⬇️
