doing some #partialderivatives (not in uni yet!) I always explain instead of only answer f(x,y) = x^2y^2 ; and i know its not a hard one but: af/ax = x^2 becomes 2x^(2-1=1) and y^2 we let be because well, it's part of the (term? is that the right word?) so 2xy^2 and, af/ay = y^2 becomes just 2yx^2
