One completely unexplored aspect of Star Wars: The way everyone is cool with droid ownership. It always felt like a missed opportunity for worldbuilding. Consider: Droids cannot use the force. And what does the dominant religion have to say about that? Clearly, they're objects, not people.

The retcon that the Clone troopers carried Order 66 because they had brain-control chips really strikes me as emblematic of why the Prequels fail: This should be the story of the Jedi and Republic embracing an industrialized mass-murder machine out of expediency, and where that inevitably leads.

I’ve been thinking a lot about tutorialization in video games and #ttrpgs. Old video games used to include chunky manuals you were expected to read before you could play. Modern TTRPGs still do this. They offer chunky player primers you’re expected to read like homework before you can play.
