Pride Night at Great American Ball Park was fun until the rain decided we can’t have nice things.

It's the weekend, baby

Replayed today’s Reds and Brewers game in MLB The Show 25 to see if I could do better than losing by 8 runs even though I’m trash at the game and just switched off of pulse pitching 2 days ago. Pitching poorly in a mode other than pulse (I’m using metered now) is better than pitching well on pulse.

I guess I missed when .microsoft became a valid TLD. I just noticed that's what the web version of Planner uses. Semi-related: as someone forced to use Office 365 for work, I really dislike the new landing page at office.com. I just want the old app list back.

While it’s a great source of information on stuff I’m interested in, I find myself spending way too much time endlessly scrolling Reddit lately. I’m removed the app from my phone so it’s not quite so handy. There is a mobile web version, but they’ve intentionally let it rot to promote app usage.

Well… that sucks.

Another awesome 3-2-1 Tuesday at GABP watching the Reds come up with some offense to shut down the Brewers’ winning streak. On the big screen is the replay of Friedl robbing the game tying home run for the last out. ❤️🤍⚾️

Not my most amazing run ever, but it was the first time I had this many Jokers.

Can someone tell SportsNet Pittsburgh that if they’re going to sell the ads on the broadcast that digitally override the ones in the stadium, they can’t be bright yellow? The Banana Boat ad they had just kept freaking out when Pirates stepped in front of it with the yellow accents on their jerseys.

The Reds are allergic to being over .500.

The awesome Pride tifo was the highlight of the match. FC Cincinnati did not look good. The offense still looks out of sync, and the defense is flat out bad.

How about this .500 madness? From MLBN research...The Reds have a 29-29 overall record, 15-15 on the road, 14-14 at home, and 15-15 against teams .500 or better. They’re 5-5 in their last ten games, 10-10 in the last 20, and 20-20 in their last 40! Within the NL Central? They're also .500 at 9-9.

Slept like a rock last night, so it’s a very late start to the morning. It’s after 11, and I’m just now settling down with coffee and a book after getting the puppies fed and walked.

Watching the Pirates game, kudos to Frazier for staying that calm with the umpire after getting rung up on a strike 3 pitch that was about 5” outside. That umpire just flat out needs to do better. I feel like the coaching staff needs to lay into him. The game is too close to let calls that bad go by

I’m not saying that I’m watching baseball on mute and playing Taylor Swift vinyl while my SO is out of town, but that’s exactly what I’m doing.

I’m all for colors, but the San Diego Padres have an awful city connect jersey. That shit is basically if you turned a 90s Taco Bell into a baseball jersey.

It's unreal the number of times the Reds have the Little League play where a ball is hit to the shallow outfield and 3 people end up watching it drop instead of someone calling the ball. 🤦‍♂️ There's a chance that one was out of reach, but no one even made a play on it.

Today’s goal is to finish an 8 hour training course in the 6 hours I have free from meetings. I feel like there’s a flaw in this somewhere. 🤔

After the first episode, I’m not sure how I feel about the Murderbot TV show. It’s not bad, but I just don’t know if the books, which are excellent, translate well to the screen.

It feels like half of the on-demand Now Learning training offered by ServiceNow involves waiting for your demo instances of the platform to provision and/or wake back up.

This surprises me.

Lately I've been getting a ton of the worst phishing attempts ever with a text from the alleged DMV for a state I haven't lived in for more than a decade (but still matches my area code) saying I have unpaid violations. Said violations can be paid at the shadiest URL in history.

I didn’t boo Lucho tonight at the FCC match (I generally reserve that for the incompetent officiating) but I understand why so many felt peeved. It was not a graceful exit.

So frustrated with the outcome of the FC Cincinnati match. The offense is finally clicking well while the defense does the exact opposite. Instead of handily having 3 points we were lucky to get 1…

Apple Weather: 0% change of rain. The World: Actively raining.

Looking at a codebase for the first time in about a week and trying to remember what the heck I had been doing.

Pleasantly surprised that I finished work and had the energy to put together a blog post instead of immediately spacing out. Not only that, but I also put together some notes for 2 other posts I’d like to write in the future. Having a backlog of post ideas is so good.

Tomorrow night is FC Dallas in Cincinnati. I *had* to get a ticket since Lucho Acosta will be back in town. I have no bad blood, but I'm curious how the crowd will react. There have been some... interesting discussions on the FCC sub-Reddit.

My library card apparently expired over the weekend, so I submitted for a new one online. Naturally, it was a holiday weekend here so no one got around to it until today. I now have a fresh card number. The good news is that I just used Standard Ebooks to bridge the gap.

When it comes to Fedora, I highly prefer running updates from the CLI versus the GUI since the CLI will output what it's doing and where it's at. The GUI just kind of spins for some random amount of time before it just tells you everything is done. Both finish the job, but I like more information.

I don’t even know who the Pirates manager is after Shelton got fired, but how do you let the umpire call a strike on Cruz that’s easily 6” low and not go give the clown of an umpire an earful? Put that idiot in his place so your players don’t have to. That’s part of the job.

That got scarier than it needed to, but Pagán managed to close it out for the Reds win. #atobttr

My calendar isn’t looking completely awful this week with respect to meetings, so I’m hopeful I may be able to actually get some work done. I feel like I’m pretty close to completing an overhaul of an app we use for onboarding new customers.

It will never cease to amaze me how the Reds fundamentally lack the ability to do the thing they teach you in Little League where for pop flies someone calls the ball and actually catches it instead of everyone standing there and letting it drop in the middle of 3 fielders.

I’m drinking a Reds branded Budweiser while watching the game, so I don’t know what more I can do to make this team get it together.

I am always saying this, phpBB forums and IRC were the peak of the internet
