Repeat after me: never again underestimate how much effort it is to summarise a JRPG

So I mentioned before that I was working on a video all about #FinalFantasyXIV Dawntrail's villainous lizardboy, the Blue Meanie himself, Zoraal Ja. If you think that 30 min of me rambling about this character is something that is truly missing from your life, got have a watch! youtu.be/4xZ7ZeASyRU

Making the #FinalFantasyXIV Zoraal Ja video made me want to do another one on what I would have done with the plot of the expansion. It's pretty much fanfiction, of course, but it's really interesting to think on what could have been

Anyone has advice on how to build gunpla with an overly curious cat around? Let's just say my finished models all have bits missing now that may or may not be hidden around by a lovely black cat.

@runebee.bsky.social Might have a nice little horror game for ya, my recommendation, one of the highlights of 2024 for me. Enigma of Fear. Cell-shaded, leans heavily into the investigative/detective side of most survival horrors, but it's really fun! Made by an indie Brazilian dev.

@dexbonus.co.uk I have a great "Dodger Game" suggestion. Have you ever played Enigma of Fear? Cell-shaded, survival horror, but leaning more towards the investigative part of the genre. A lot of deduction involved. It's also set in the universe of a Brazilian TTRPG actual play, which is cool.

Been going through a few games in my backlog, finding something to talk about in a video, something to sink my teeth in...and really just have found games that I don't want to play anymore, that in one way or another outstay their welcome. They're not bad, but ehhhh, not really good

Yesterday I finished the script for the one #FinalFantasyXIV video I know no one wants to see but I have to make because it just won't leave my head until I do so: A deep look at Zoraal Ja.

This is my latest video, a look at the enemies in The Suffering games, the Malefactors and what they represent. bit of an overview, plus some opinions here and there where there may be gaps in lore. youtu.be/lhpgvaj-MNY

Got a new video coming out today at 5pm GMT. Really proud of how this one turned out.

Buying this one immediately!!!

Finished the first of the talent trees for my rp system. It's all about using Shields to block, smack, parry, protect. It's a bit of D&D, a bit of FF14 paladin, a bit of Captain America in there. Now onto the classic: Sword.

Got the notification that my YouTube channel is 9 years old. In truth, I only consider it to be 2 years old. Before Jan 2023 I wasn't really invested in YouTube, it was a place to dump vods or or stuff related to a blog I had. But in 2023 I found my own voice, my own creative drive for YouTube.

In the process of writing the script for a bunch of videos, just none are finished at the moment. Chief among them is a script that keeps writing itself in my head, an essay on one of #FinalFantasyXIV Dawntrail's villains, Zoraal Ja. I still say many players don't really get what his deal is.

HLJ has been my goto retailer for all things Gunpla for years, plus as a fan of the Kiseki series, if there's a new model or kit, I'm heading straight to HLJ for it Love the Private Warehouse option and how they handle preorders, charging once available. It's so good for the mental math and finances

Experiment: Black Olive and Banana pizza. Based on an idea from a Kids on Bikes game. Report: This is pretty tasty! The banana adds a sweetness that becomes an undertone to the sourness of the olive. And on its own the sweetness plays well with the sauce. @murphypop.bsky.social @bobbeigh.world

For my first primer video of the year I decided to talk about a horror series near and dear to my twisted heart, two games that explore the darkness in a man's soul and the harm humans inflict on one another. The Suffering youtu.be/AhVagmDvIN4

The most time-consuming part of doing the post-prod on the different TTRPG games I record is definitely the audio part. Cutting out big silences, dice roll mumbling, and generally clean it all up so it's a more streamlined experience for the viewer. It takes a while.

Generally speaking, I enjoy Honkai Star Rail...but the grind for levelling materials for stuff is profoundly annoying. Drop rates are just too low.
