9am and I'm already needing some help. How's your morning going?? 😳😬

A reminder that if the government can send migrants to a prison camp without any due process, it can send U.S. citizens there, too. I know because this happened to me and my family in 1942.

I work in book publishing. One of our books has been banned by the Naval Academy. I think we all know the assignment: ivpress.com/the-myth-of-equality #readbannedbooks #booksky

You know one of the things I love about the #HandsOff protests? I'm not hearing about celebrities joining or talking about it. This is a movement of THE PEOPLE. We are powerful all on our own. ❤️ #resist

I was so engaged with the Lisle, IL protest yesterday that I didn't take any pictures. I was so glad to be there with 3K of my friends. #resist #handsoff

🔥 OBAMA: “IMAGINE IF I HAD DONE ANY OF THIS… I say this not on a partisan basis. This has to do with something more precious — who are we as a country, and what values do we stand for?” 🇺🇸

God bless Cory Booker.

This sparrow also regrets spending too much time reading the news today and is going to put stricter limits on her scrolling. 🪶

I'm concerned about my community food bank. I've come to know the clients there as I've volunteered. This past Saturday, I noticed the shelves were rather bare. We gave what we had, but several people comments on the lack of food. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/20/u...

This group of protestors from yesterday's #TeslaTakedown in my town is giving me life. While most Musk Opposers were on the other side of the street, this small group was right in the middle of the Rump/Lon supporters.

Obama is on Bluesky and I feel like Dad is home. ❤️

I'm anxious and baffled at the state of the US rn. All of my current info input is from those I agree with. I truly want to understand other perspectives. I'm flummoxed that anyone could be happy rn. How do you hear different perspectives for understanding?

This adorable older couple sat in front of me at the Civic Opera yesterday. ❤️ We saw La Boheme and this gentleman told me that it "plucks the strings of my heart". #romantic

I was at a protest yesterday - biggest crowd yet.

I want to go there.

bestie if you see this you should have yourself a sip of water and maybe fix your posture for a second and also have you had a snack today you seem like you could use one love you

Guys. It's exhausting out here. Drink water. Get sleep. Disconnect from the relentless newscycle when you can. Enjoy the sunshine and laughter as an act of resistance.

Finished two excellent books today: God of the Woods by Liz Moore and Andromeda by Therese Bohman. Next up: Count My Lies by Sophie Stava and Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros. #bookstore 💙📚

I have a hard time believing that anyone would say, as Elon Musk did, "The fundamental weakness of Western civilization is empathy." In fact, the fundamental weakness is a lack of empathy.

My 75 year old dad working on their fridge. If you ever wonder where I get my energy and "can-do" spirit from... welp, there ya go.

Me, post-Amazon: wait. HOW do I buy Lady Gaga's #Mayhem now?? I've regressed in my hunter/gatherer skills!

One more Friday random post: I love Gen Z lingo. "Girlypop" is in my current rotation. ❤️

About 30 yrs ago I heard a preacher who was trying to get engagement from the congregation. He called out, "Talk to me, bench!" It struck me as funny b/c it sounded like he said, "Talk to me, b!tch!" Since then, this has become my phrase while thinking: "Talk to me, bench!" I always smile.

Me: *randomly humming an old jingle from Great America Amusement Parks and doing a little dance* Him: Babe, your subconscious is a wonderland. ❤️ #accurate

But really, though. Tell me. I'm honestly interested.

I joined Book of the Month this year and I'm loving it! Any other BOTMers here? 📚💙 #booksky

Interested in a rather non-traditional look at Lent? Abby Olcese wrote this terrific book that pairs movies, thoughtful reflection, and the church calendar. Ash Wednesday's movie? Annihilation. #booksky

My guy on the phone with an older relative... Him: Okay, now, put everything down. No, you can just empty your hands... okay. Pick up the cord and follow it to the end. What do you see? ....is it plugged in? Okay, good. Plug it in. God bless patient tech people.

Just attended my town's village hall meeting. When asked what we can do, @casten.house.gov said: "Don't politicize the conversation. This isn't about who a person voted for. It's about the fracturing of democracy and the constitution. Try to find understanding and common ground."

I deactivated my fb account today. I feel a bit sad. FB has been a fun, engaging, frustrating, connecting space for me for over 20 years. But it's not what it once was... and I can't support Meta any longer.

Can't sleep = more time to read! ❤️

Have courage Stand up to bullies Be like President Zelenskyy

Shameful display of Trump/Vance today toward the courageous leader of Ukraine. #istandwithukraine
