Enjoying the #leap25 event so far - already @kinlane is reminding us all how important the developer experience and internal advocacy is in good API practice!

Only a few more votes needed for the 10k

Thanks for listening, #PHPUK! Slides are here: https://buff.ly/4b35lQl . Also here's that final slide and big list of links: * https://lornajane.net * https://openapis.org * https://buff.ly/4b8Gw5l * https://speakeasy.com * https://bump.sh * https://microcks.io/ * https://buff.ly/2SV213b

Today I'm at #PHPUK, speaking about OpenAPI. PHP is my "home" tech community and it's great to see some familiar faces already! My talk is at 3:15 in Queen Charlotte, I've got lots to tell you so please come along and I'll do my best to keep you entertained in the last formal talk of the day !

As a user of many uncool technologies, I really appreciated this article about Contempt Culture from @[email protected] - a great article with a thoughtful message about how we can be the change we want to see in our own communities blog.aurynn.com/2015/12/16-c... #linkTuesday

Once upon a time, a long time ago, I told a room full of people to share the best things they read with others, selectively and not too often. To cut a long story short, the #linkTuesday tag was born, but on a now-forgotten social network.

After one year of the Bradford clean air / low emission zone, GP visits for breathing and heart problems were down by a quarter. My latest for @theguardian.com. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

From the recent Jetbrains survey: "The survey’s gender distribution shows a striking lack of diversity, with the overwhelming majority of respondents identifying as male." If you have the means to support Larabelles, I strongly urge you to do so: larabelles.com/support-us

On a train north after a wonderful multi-conference trip to #chaosscon and #FOSDEM and #SooCon plus some social moments with community people. Thank you to everyone who made the events happen, came to my talks/panel, or stopped to chat. I learned a lot and enjoyed it all! (But now I need a nap)

Spending today and tomorrow at #SooCon , looking forward to the talks and the chats and the people!

Friendly reminder that each talk has a feedback link in the schedule. Please let us know about the quality of the talk and speaker, if the room was overcrowded, ... feedback helps us improve the next edition! You can also mail your general feedback to [email protected]

Next up is "Beyond the README: Crafting a Better Developer Experience for Open Source Projects" at 12:00 in the main track in K. Everything you need (slides, stream, feedback link) is here:

It's a busy day for me at #FOSDEM with two talks! "The OpenAPI Landscape" is at 09:30 (the hangover slot!) in the APIs track. I'm so excited to bring news from the OpenAPI Initiative to the FOSDEM crowd.

Good news - very limited allocation of extra tickets for State of Open Con on 4 and 5 Feb is available to open source maintainers and community contributors. To apply for a comp ticket contact mailto:[email protected] and share what your community contribution is https://buff.ly/3HjeQxq #soocon25

In 30 minutes I'll be giving my "CLI Magic for Documentation Projects" talk in the Tool the Docs room at #FOSDEM. To see it, I hope you're already here because the room is full .... I might publish the content as a small ebook, would that be interesting?

So many great humans and interesting talks at #chaosscon in Brussels today, I’m already really glad I made the trip.

This one is for all engineers who appreciate good documentation and are ready to build their skills to use for their own projects! #DeveloperExperience

Quick blog post walking through some GitHub GraphQL examples using Python. I didn't find a lot of examples when I was building this, so I thought I'd better share mine

An opportunity to hear my voice! I was on the Not Boring Tech Writer Podcast with Kate. We had a great time and covered some important topics. Not all technical people will listen to anything with the word "writer" in the title, which makes it feel like a secret society!!

With #Speakeasy, we firmly believe that #OpenAPI is often a game-changer, and the support for Overlays reinforces this idea. We published a guide on this topic, showing how to generate your SDKs and retrieve custom code examples for your API doc. bump.sh/blog/bump-sp...

The OpenAPI Map (fka. OpenAPI Specification Visual Document) aims to help you find your way in the OpenAPI Specification (fka. Swagger Specification) documentation. https://openapi-map.apihandyman.io/

After #FOSDEM (2 talks, about OpenAPI, and about CLI tools), I'll be popping by train to London for #SooCon25 (panel about OSS maintainance). Please let me know if I'll see you in either location?

Have you bought your State of Open Con ticket yet? It's a great event and quite a steal at just £250 (~USD$300)! It's right after FOSDEM, so you can take the Eurostar from Brussels to London and do both events together!
