I think for lent I’m going to be fasting from meat… and also the news I live under a fascist regime, I know things are bad and I know I’m going to spend my time helping others. Anything super important my friends or wife or community will tell me. I think I’ll be okay just not knowing for 40 days

Don’t be a nice person…

Thats a really good point. Do I have to arrive 2 hours early for security on a high speed rail? Whats parking like? This would be faster even if train time vs flight time aaid it was slower.

This is what Ive been saying. "Let the courts habdle it." They're already breaking the law do you think a court order will chmage that? We have to bodily stop these people.

"John Lewis would have gotten arrested" When your Dem reps ask "what do want me to do?" Be John Lewis!

"Oh, he isn't real. He's just a composite face, put together by a computer." Kirby was reading rooms that weren't even built yet.

Astonishing crowd inside Manhattan Criminal Court two hours before Luigi Mangione’s follow-up appearance. Organized chaos, people are in cordoned-off gaggles down the full length of the hall, chatting casually. Feels reminiscent of fans waiting for a concert ticket line to open.

I’m sure I have some deaf followers: a Creative Writing PhD applicant is researching Deaf representation and Sign Language in Fantasy novels, and looking to speak to D/deaf or sign-user members about their experiences with sign and how they could see it in a fantasy setting. Let me know if…

I regularly us ethe "I am very poorly today" as a sort of pep talk to get past rough days. Even Darwin had days like that. You just gotta keep going.

The amount of stuff right now is astounding Here is a round red bird for your timeline Vermilion flycatcher taken in Arizona 🪶

This thread made me think of a conversation my partner had with their mother the other day. They were telling mom about a history book they had been reading and their mom said "oh you should think about being a teacher."

How Im doing.

A movie you've watched more then six times, using only GIFs

Tyranny requires your fear, your silence, and your compliance. Democracy requires your courage.

When ordered by Nazis to give lists of disabled people by disability severity, some doctors sent back exaggerated data to protect patients from forced work They didn't know that the "most disabled" were to be killed first The moral here isn't to tell the truth It's to never co-operate with Nazis

People are always asking “what are some books that capture the feeling I get when I read The Lord of the Rings” so I made a list:

I deeply resent that society is falling apart except for all the parts where WE still have to obey the rules & pay our taxes & pretend things are normal enough to function day in & day out. Just couldn’t vote to survive, could you, America?

Friendly reminder to get your free Covid tests before they throw them away. Covidtests.gov wapo.st/42VLGQh

wishywashy liberals clinging to norms and a dead-and-buried status quo are going to get us all killed

Love this

When I was in an abusive marriage I had a phrase I said often "it's not *that* bad. If it were that bad I wouldn't be able to ignore it or let it go so it can't be that bad." This is a post about what is happening to the USA and how people are letting it happen.
