Surely this new video won't make me seem like a crank. www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEJp...

When these inaccuracies were first found, they could be called "mistakes." When DOGE took efforts to cover them up, they can no longer be considered "mistakes."

> DeJoy warned that the post office, which has lost more than $100bn since 2007, must continue to cut costs or will remain on the path to either a “government bailout or the end of this great organization as we know it” THE POST OFFICE IS A PUBLIC SERVICE AND SHOULD NOT BE TREATED LIKE A FOR PROFIT

I can’t remember where I read this, but it’s important: Why is it that when people think about traveling to the past, they worry about doing something small that will drastically change the present, but no one in the present thinks that doing something small today can drastically change the future?

Worth reading.

Honestly, I knew things would move fast (they proudly yelled it to the world - so no "I didn't know he was gonna do THAT" doesn't count, people) but it's still insane to watch, and not in a good way. Canada is doing what they /should/ and the only thing a bully understands is being punched back. :(

I think Americans, blessed with relatively stable government for a long time, assume there is someone, some adult, who will step in and make things right before the President does anything REALLY bad. There’s not.

Dear Canada and Mexico, We’re so, so sorry. — Sane America

Canada and Mexico are our friends and the mad king of our nation has turned on them and is hurting them in our name. We should be furious not just for what he’s doing to us but also to what he’s doing to them.

#caturday She's a tad grumpy with me since she didn't get my dinner plate. 😅

Elon just filed his proposed second amended complaint, asking for "treble damages" for companies illegally [checks notes] not advertising on X... The level of entitlement is insane. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

This is what the government did with 120K+ Japanese Americans in 1942. I know. I was there in those camps.

feel the burn

It disgusts me every time somebody asks me to be civil and calm. To kumbaya with people. When I am being completely rational. I AM being completely calm in the face of ALL my rights and my safety are being threatened

“Libertarian” tech bros cheering on the abolition of work from home tells you a lot. These people aren’t for innovation, results, responsibility, and personal choice. They are authoritarians. They worship control and hierarchy.

I don't /know/ what the future will bring, but right now my outlook isn't very good. I hope for the best, but that's all I've got.

We got a few inches of snow this morning. It's beautiful and I'm also glad that today is the day I work from home (I do a hybrid setup) and don't actually have to go anywhere. 😅

Characters designed from the scenery in Sonic 2's Chemical Plant Zone. Anyone who didn't see a face in that moving platform is lying.

Finally got around to properly fixing my computer speaker set. I've had this thing for years (it's an old Logitech 5.1 beast - gotta give them props for it running for >20 years with no issues!) but had not properly extended both rear cables to work in this room because I'm a lazy bum. #lazy

Cyanide & happiness inspired gingerbread house for the family contest. 🎄 It got a bit smudged but we’re happy with it! @kriswilson.bsky.social

Holy crap, one of these finally turned up, and just in time. I'd seen the online arguments over whether they were ever actually /sold/ a while back. The article is a good summary, but the video has a lot more detail and history. arstechnica.com/gaming/2024/... #crttv #gaming #retrotech

you get one shot

Going to finish my new main PC rig tomorrow, I think. I've been dealing with a cold for the last week and it's just been ... something I haven't wanted to deal with. x.x After I get it booted up and the main system looking good, I'll move some hardware (GPU, 2nd SSD) from the last main in.
