Jennifer Love-Hewitt in the movie 'The Tuxedo'. Her character was the trope of 'beautiful scientist' that actually used her scientific abilities to save the day. Right from the start she was thinking rings around others. Commendable writing, especially for the year 2002.

In the movie 'Looper', which involves quite a lot of time travel, Joseph Gordon-Levitt grows up to be Bruce Willis. But in a 'flashback', they have a 'younger' Willis wearing a Levitt wig. They should have just hired a struggling actor that fit the general look. The wig was silly nonsense.

Except for the part where it's canon in #Discworld that magic clothes are unreliable, the Jackie Chan movie 'The Tuxedo' could easily have been Discworld. Especially the part with the black clad, cool as ice recruiter at the start. Classic 'Vetinari's clerks, AKA deadly assasin' vibes.

The unofficial 'The Thing' tie in comic books forgot one important aspect of the Kurt Russel movie. The monster needed TIME to turn you. It wasn't a case of 'touch it and you're screwed'. You can fist fight a Thing and not turn, that's the point.
