Mostly Utah Jazz content, including loud claps, CBA information, and musings from 40+ years of fandom. Also a smattering of travel tales & photos, small business woes, & whatever else strikes my fancy.

There's the answer. Utah bypasses signing a second 10-day contract & just locks Springer down for what sounds like 3 years (the rest of this one plus two more). I'm guessing the future years are team options and/or lots of non-guaranteed money.

Jaden Springer's 10-day contract expired at the end of day Saturday. He is still listed in Utah's Game Notes, which could indicate he's expected to sign a 2nd 10-day deal, but that's not official. Keep an eye out for either a contract signing or no news at all.

The remainder of the Jazz schedule is kind of feast or famine from a home/road perspective: 7 game home stand 5 game road trip 1 home game 1 quick roadie 6 game home stand 5 game road trip 2 final games at home 1 season finale on the road

As a 3 year vet (currently in his 4th year), Springer should make $124,288 over the 10-day contract. Utah will pay him $119,972, with the league paying the remainder.

The Clippers just wrapped up a 14-point win over the Grizzlies & are supposed to depart for SLC in an hour. I bet Kawhi sits tomorrow, with Harden, Powell & Zubac TBD. Jazz may rest some guys as well due to the B2B. Clips-Jazz Thursday night @ the DC!

The run the Jazz have been on, capped by beautiful ball movement for the open three by Keyonte George just earned my first loud clap in quite a while. Fast follower loud clap: Lauri for 3, Jazz up 20!

ESPN: "We all know that the L.A. wildfires have displaced so many families, and so many businesses are no longer...erect at the moment." He thought about it, but he just couldn't come up with another word.

Nobody asked for an accountant's accounting of the Jazz's trade deadline, but @saltcityhoops has it anyway. Second rounders may not be sexy, but it's crazy how little Utah gave up to add 5 of them, plus a young wing they can evaluate for 2 months or more. saltcityhoops.com/restocking-t...

Once more in case you missed my rankings of the most likely Jazz players to be traded last night. 24 hours left until the trade deadline!

Last night during the game, I messed around and ranked Jazz players from 1 to 15 based on the likelihood of being traded. Today I got motivated & decided to share. Check out my rankings on Salt City Hoops at the link below & feel free to agree (or not). saltcityhoops.com/trade-rankin...

Jazz can receive up to $2,912,475 in cash because they already received $4,327,525 from Clippers in the Westbrook-Dunn deal before the season. Tucker is owed roughly $4.8M for the rest of the season, Bamba $863K. If Utah received the max, this deal & the 2ndRP cost $2.7M.

Travel is a series of lines and other forms of waiting. The hope is that you get to experience something cool enough that it was worth all the lines and waits, including the ones on the trip home, because there's no more vacation at the end of those lines and waits.

Midnight pizza. The last bad decision after 10 days of similar bad decisions. Flying home tomorrow, then back to real life & more reasonable diet starting Tuesday.

End of a weird week. We started in SLC & returned home late on NYE for the start of the empty nest phase of life. Before we even had a chance to feel the quietness, the week was turned upside down. We awoke to the news that my wife's mom died in the first 12 hours of 2025. 1/4

The Isaiah Collier three & subsequent steal & jam earned my first two imaginary loud claps of the game. I was holding a plate of nachos, soman actual loud clap was out of the question.

That Cody Williams take and layup from the left wing just earned my first loud clap of the night. (I have clapped tonight, but not a loud clap.)

OK, who's in the house (or will be) tonight?
