Happy pi day! Here's a fun connection between pi day and the first five square numbers:

If the US is concerned about energy prices are they removing the import tarrifs? Onterio was simply saying if you want to pay more we can help. www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcn...

US places tarifs on Canadian goods including energy. Canada says you really shouldn't do that stuff will get more expensive. US refuses to back down so one Canadian province decides to add additional export tax on electricity to illustrate the problem. US gets upset and conflict ensues.

"Temporary flood protection barriers hydraulic testing and performance Standard for Canadian climates (New Standard)" is now ready for public review. We are working hard to protect Canada from increasingly severe flood risks. Please provide your input on our work. publicreview.csa.ca/Home/Details...

If Doug Ford was worried about tariffs he would deal with them; not call an election. He is worried that the federal Conservatives will win and that Ontarians will decide that they don't want Conservatives at both the Provincial and federal governments.

In reflection on the events of December 6, 1989 I can not help but realize that we hear the name of the perpetrator more often than those of his victims. I believe that Jacinda Ardern had the right idea when she vowed to never speak the perpetrators name in response to the Christchurch shootings.

In swaying popular opinion the media can be an effective rein on power and moderate excess. In these days of weakened media influence we should not forget the important role that they play in our democracy. www.cbc.ca/news/world/g... (2/2)

In the first past the post electoral system power swings can be hard and there are few legislative guardrails on that power. An effective media can be the only real opposition to an abuse of power. www.cbc.ca/news/world/g... (1/2)
