Sgt Clarke used to say, "If I get reports of pavement cycling, I go down and investigate poor driving - very likely the root cause".

Utterly joyful

Looking forward to seeing this.

Helpful thread on transport aspects of carbon emissions in the latest CCC report. @exetercycling.bsky.social

You could not make this up. I feel physically sick.

Definitely noticed this in Exeter

That was a morning definitely worth dragging my lazy self out of bed for.

I hear one of these will start in St L Exeter soon..

We should be taking note of failing designs like these @exetercycling.bsky.social as DCC must learn from them how to deliver Stoke Arms roundabout. I fear we will end up with a expensive dog's dinner even if they ever get around to considering delivery of a safer design.

So interesting I'd no idea 🐇 do this.

A mum whose 3-year-old was run over by a hit-and-run driver has called on Newham Council to push ahead with a previously shelved LTN scheme. The rat run was was planned to become part of an LTN scheme 2 years ago!!! www.standard.co.uk/news/transpo...

It’s not a coincidence—it’s a warning.

😮

Your regular reminder that a staggering 41% of adults aged 40 to 60 in England walk less than 10 minutes continuously a month at a brisk pace. Physical inactivity amongst adults contributes to 1 in 6 deaths in the UK & costs the NHS over £1 billion per year

Please, please, please can someone read this out at the next Devon County Council cabinet meeting? Doubtless they'll find it very affirming of their el mañana approach.

Is this what passes for journalism in a broadsheet these days?

Great chance for @ExeterCycling campaign supporters to meet, connect up, make new friends & get ready for the adventures 2025 is sure to throw at us. #Exeter #cycling #meetup

I've re-run my numbers & gutted to say they're worse than I thought. Best case scenario, each local authority could lay, one-way, between 2-300 metres of quality cycle track all things being equal. The reality is more budget split will drive numbers down www.cyclingelectric.com/in-depth/ana...

Definitely seeing this in Exeter. Even the "cute" little ones' owners feel to need to take over the pavements. #carspreading

Locally, VisionZeroSW still have their website conflating at those at risk from poor driving & those causing the danger. Their "we all have a responsibility" messaging on #roadsafety smacks to me of "girls shouldn't wear short skirts" garbage women had to deal with in the last century.

Come on Devon County Council. Why are you holding back on delivering 20mph? #VisionZero

BBC News - £23m for South West active travel schemes www.bbc.com/news/article... DCC get just under £4m. For context, the dangerous roundabout near my home in Exeter, for which no funding has yet been sought was estimated to cost around £7.5m to correct.

I've been fortunate enough to spend the last two weeks in snowy landscapes. I noticed lichen sitting in perfectly fitting little pockets in the snow. I guess when the sun shines, they are warming up enough to melt the snow a little. #lichen
