The evolution from Demon's Souls to Elden Ring is a perfect example of why iteration and reuse is so important in games. Too many studios throw out their old work and start completely from scratch on something new.

I'm still waiting for the extraction shooter that nails the concept. Tarkov is a bit too "hardcore" to me. The Cycle is the closest to really get there I feel. I think Fortnite could get there if they were interested.
