Ex-presidents get intel so they can advise newer presidents. It's not a status thing. Trump stole & possibly sold secret documents and would never give good advice anyway, so Biden cut him off. All risk and no reward. Trump cutting off Biden doesn't matter because Trump would never listen anyway.

Trump can become a full-blown dictator at any time. He has Congress in his pocket, he controls the police, and if the courts decide against him, he can ignore them. Nothing short of a military coup could stop him, if he wanted. For four years, our freedom will rely on the whim of a deranged thug.
