We take so much for granted in America. We expect weather radar to work, because we have government systems that hire qualified people and equipment that gets timely service. When you take apart the government, the country fails, just like this part. Musk wants America to fail.

The Bay Area weather radar (KMUX) has been out of service for more than 24 hours now. An expensive broken part needs to be replaced and specially ordered, but that may not be possible due to ongoing freeze on government credit card spending, I’ve been told.

And that’s why I Stand Up for Science.

There’s not enough money to fund cancer research, but there is enough money to stockpile crypto… www.forbes.com/sites/alison...

This is important. Likewise, TRUMP/Musk are steering NOAA to being privatized—and StarLink is slated for the contract. We’re going to have to pay for weather? Tide information? (Of course they won’t continue to report on climate disruptions or climate change data.)

The most frightening and ominous act by Trump/Musk is firing all the senior JAG officers. They are trained and empowered to advise, or tell, military officers when an order (like, from the President) is in violation of the Constitution. Hmmm.

Take note, Gov. Landry & Louisiana legislators crowing about $$ LA carbon capture projects. DOGE has just bitten you in the ass. A lot more hurt coming to Louisiana. FAFO.

We are all in distress. Thank you @altnps.bsky.social

Let’s add #neworleans to the map! #StandUpForScience and #noaa

Let’s add #neworleans to the map!

Let’s see what Mardi Gras brings…besides beads.

Trump just orchestrated one of the most shameful moments in US history. We need *all leaders* outside the US to stand up to Trump. For that we need to show they have our backing. Add your name and share this link widely, it has never been more critical to have our voices heard: WorldVsTrump.com

When companies invest in DEI, they invest in people. Now's the time for Target to stand firm in its values, not retreat. Will you add your name to call on Target's leadership to reinstate its DEI programs? sign.moveon.org/petitions/ta...

Sales in Europe down by half. In US?

Look I know rich people who live in NYC hate congestion pricing, but I'm pretty sure "class" isn't a protected category in US law. Otherwise practically every government fee in existence would be a prima facie constitutional violation

Jimmy Carter in 2015 on the role of money in American politics: "It violates the essence of what made America a great country in its political system. Now it’s just an oligarchy, with unlimited political bribery." Spot on.

Secy Bessent’s recent letter to Congress: home.treasury.gov/news/press-r...

Secy Bessent assured Congress “that any recent access to Treasury’s payment systems ‘is not resulting in the suspension or rejection of any payment instructions submitted’ to the federal government.” How is that not a lie? Technically true (“payment instructions”)? But effectively a lie.

Elon Musk paid less for the United States government than he did for Twitter. Remarkable how low the bidding was.

One Elon Musk lawyer’s pending clerkship for Justice Gorsuch (or any S.Ct. Justice) presents a huge conflict of interest, given the wave of fed. cases challenging “DOGE”’s actions. These Are Some of the Lawyers Working for Elon Musk’s DOGE www.propublica.org/article/elon...

IT’S NOT A “DEPARTMENT”! Would someone come up with a more accurate name for the Musk consulting / advisory team? How about CREAP - Consultants to Recommend Efficiency Actions to the President? (Other ideas?) Language is critical. Never accept your adversary’s language.

After Sen. Wyden’s announcement that a Head Start Program in Oregon was closed this week. Another result from Musk takeover of federal funds. Thank you Mr President.

Somebody please enlighten me: what is it exactly that Trump thinks he can gain or wants to gain for the US by imposing the tariffs on Canadian and Mexican goods? Lots of flexing, machismo, etc., but what is the objective from each country?
