A lot of these services are used by impregnated rape victims, people who are going through pregnancy loss, or having to have unwanted abortions due to medical issues. No one should have to feel intimidated about reproductive choices, but even the religious right have to see the cruelty here.

In the final stages of writing an article about how multiple kinks in the systems designed to keep mentally ill ppl & the community safe are all failing at the same time, placing disabled ppl (& more rarely but in my family case, others) at serious risk. The pitch has been accepted

I’m a Christian. Trump has made it verbally clear he isn’t. His actions also go against Christ’s teachings about immigrants, the poor, and the vulnerable. He is exploiting Christianity & it works because it’s w/ ppl who don’t follow Christ’s teachings but invoke him as a cloak for their bigotry.

I contacted a bunch of DV charities re disabled SUs, & the most they have is expert by experience programmes. They don’t seem to have gained the understanding they need from these. This is something I have to go alone with. I’ve started up by setting up a Facebook page for disabled abuse survivors

With Lab & Cons being as they are about disabled people (happy to hv ppl believe we’re workshy grifters), I would consider whether there’s a link between wanting to increase the scope and: reducing the bill for disability benefits; relieving pressure on the NHS; & solving the social care crisis….

Does anyone get the feeling that Trump is itching to build a Trump hotel, casino and golf course in the Gaza Strip? The way he’s talking of clearing it out & rebuilding sans Gazas makes me think of this more as expectation than just speculation or hyperbole to make a point

I decided to see what was going on in mumsnet land and their attitudes to things. Transphobia now endemic, as is homophobia but a less aggressive strain. Classism has sporadic outbursts. Ableism is ingrained. It’s like a Daily Mail tribute act.44% of users said a disabled person was unreasonable…

Since October, I’ve lost four people to premature deaths. Five, if you include my wider circle. This is one of the hardest things about meeting ppl through disability activism- so many of us die prematurely. It’s a community of love & loss. Solidarity w/ disabled folk/ PWDs (if you’re American)
