I just wanted to let you all know that the council has decided on the best mentor and co-author (it’s me, I am the council) because who else prepares such a cool surprise celebration of a new publication? Thank you so much, @macicak.bsky.social! 🤍 #academicsky #phdsky

🎉 My first publication ever is out! In this study on conspiracy thinking in the Czech population, @macicak.bsky.social and I focused on how media and political attitudes—especially trust—relate to the inclination to see secret plots behind events. 🧵1/6 doi.org/10.1080/1933...

Happy International Day of Women and Girls in Science! Science should be a safe space for women, girls, and all gender identities. An inclusive space is a safe space.

And that’s a wrap! My Fulbright stay at @bellisariograded.bsky.social is officially over. Despite the broligarchic whirlwind around, I loved every day of it, and it profoundly helped me to organize my thoughts and navigate where I want to go next.

I feel seen

My Fulbright experience with @bellisariograded.bsky.social ends in two weeks, but I still enjoy every second here. For example, this morning, I attended this great and mindblowing public lecture by @saschameinrath.bsky.social, which was packed with both information & fun film references.

My morning gaming session was on point today. (Although whether robots are the future is up for discussion.)

I've noticed that all the coverage of the idiocy that is DOGE accepts a set of conservative assumptions: government is too big, bureaucracy is out of control, regulations are presumptively bad, etc. The only question being asked is whether this effort can succeed in its noble goal.

Unlike you, I got my news from a reliable source.

The six biggest banks in the U.S. have quit the Net Zero Banking Alliance just before Trump's inauguration. The alliance was formed with the goal of cutting greenhouse gas emissions. Let this serve as another reminder that so-called “corporate social responsibility” is a sham.

A less discussed aspect of normalization of the far right is the attacks on anyone using pre-normalization assessments and terminology. This has been going on for over a decade, in Europe and the U.S., where the term “far right” is being squeezed tighter and tighter until it only refers to Nazis.

This is how trying to use my brain and working again after the break feels like: #academia #AcademicSky #phd #PhDchat #PhDsky

Gonna tell the kids this was the social construction of technology

One thing I really enjoy here at Bluesky is that posts with links (to fx research or news) are not suppressed by 🦋 👏🏼 💕 @bsky.app Imagine that: a social media platform that does not punish links to substance, sources and information!! 💡 🤓

Setting my alarm to catch a taxi to the airport at 4.50 am is physically hurting me in advance, but I am sure it will be worth it. Next stop: #Fulbright Scholar Enrichment Seminar✈️ Any tips for good cafés & vegan/vegetarian restaurants in Cleveland? 🍲
