Brought in the feline writing coach to get this chapter done.

Gov. Mills showed precisely the sort of integrity in the face of political pressure that the majority of the party currently lacks. More importantly, she did so extemporaneously and without hesitation from a purple state where this isn't a universally popular position. www.maine.gov/governor/mil...

There's a sneak peek at the "meet cute" from my romantasy WIP posted on my blogness: lucybluecastle.wordpress.com/2025/02/20/f...

Hey hey! I'm Michael, I write queer horror (and sci fi). My Appalachian cosmic horror novel CHILDREN OF SOLITUDE comes out in a couple of months. My first conscious efforts were a string of short stories (private eye + supernatural hijinks) I wrote in 5th grade. Fond memories! #HorrorWritersChat

Senior dog woke me at 2am demanding a drink and a cuddle. He had nameless anxiety. Same, sweet boy. Same.

You know what? I write fun books. Save me some space, y'all; a steady diet of nothing but doom scroll won't help anyway. @falstaffbooks.bsky.social

Okay, Congressional Democrats. Before you send me one more fundraising email, I want to see you get this done.

Every once in a while, I need an expert's answer to "so what can we do about this terrible problem?" to be something other than "send money to me and/or this organization I support." Until we shift primary focus away from "keeping professional protest paid" to "fix this shit," we're treading water.

Rainy Saturday writing …

Did not expect to celebrate Valentine's Day by defending transgender rights to a co-worker. She's probably still in the restroom with a cool cloth on her head, bless her heart. But I'm a Christian, too, and God calls me to witness just like He does you, babe, sorry. And you brought it up.

It’s my book birthday! Return to Netherford, my little Kentish village, with gentlewitch Edith Rookwood, her companion Poppy, and a host of new and old characters. It’s queer, cozy magic, with romance and adventure. 🌈✨🐺❤️ Link: bookshop.org/a/21904/9781... #booksky📚💙

You know what makes a great gift for Galentines Day?

Clearly, I have done a terrible job promoting when one of my dearest friends didn't know I released my latest? Consider me chastised. In other news, do you like urban fantasy novels in the vein of True Blood but with fairies instead of vampires, featuring cocktail magic and chaotic pansexuals?

New playlist? Must be writing a new book. #darkromance music.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

Started my day with my beloved (he better be beloved, the little bastard) chihuahua pitbull mix darling looking me dead in the eye as he peed extravagantly into my sneaker. He NEVER does that; he's very well house-trained. So y'all be careful out there today; the vibe is ugly-weird.

I keep thinking, okay, this nitwit is a wooden puppet, follow the strings. Which are held by another nitwit. Okay, follow those strings. Hm, nitwit again. Is there a puppetmaster somewhere at the top or just a collection of nitwits playing with one another's wood?

COVER REVEAL!! I’m thrilled to share the cover of my debut novel 13 COUNTY ROAD 666, book one of my Trailer Park Cryptids series, coming 3/6/25 from @falstaffbooks.bsky.social I can’t wait for y’all to meet Mel, my disaster bi property manager for the most paranormal trailer park in Central Texas!

DEI literature. I always hire myself to write my books. Why? Because I need that brown magic, that literary sofrito, that special flavor, that richness, that wonderful Otherness.

Got some solid fiction writing done this morning, and honestly, that still helps my state of mind more and with longer effect than anything else I can do. #selfcare #writerlife

I love romantasy; I write romantasy. But there is and always has been soooo much great fantasy written by women that has no romantic element whatsoever, and Juliet is right; this completely ignores that fact.

Having a respite day with the hubs. Just ate some really spicy pad ka pow (delicious!); now headed to the pottery studio to pick up the bad pottery I painted a month ago. #saturday

The thing stressing me into frenzy in the tiny circle of my personal life this morning is getting back and forth to the doctor's office to get blood tested for hypercortisolism. The irony, she burns . . .

Elon Musk, that avatar or arrogance, is trashing the US Constitution. Trumpers, is this what you voted for? An end to America?

Lawsuits are fine, legislation that outlaws stuff that's already illegal is ... something, I guess. But what's happening IS illegal. So why isn't anybody asking judges to issue arrest warrants so law enforcement can go in and physically apprehend these people?

USA peeps, please figure out how to navigate the ongoing crisis/coup in a way that keeps you as healthy as possible. Do not listen to the scolds who tell you you have to rage 24hrs/day or you are complying. Pace yourself. Have a nice meal, laugh with friends, discuss a book. This will be a long haul

Day three on our way to Valentine’s Day and the release of THE VISCOUNT ST. ALBANS. Today, we finally meet Roland, our reluctant werewolf dandy, who tumbles onto the scene in London. When he’s framed for murder, he asks Edith to help him… reluctantly. His charms barely work. #booksky💙📚
