Thanks, Sewer Fatberg of Grease and Rags! www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...

Remembering that time a couple of years ago when I was driving back from Bruce and, late in the day, came across 100s of cockatiels. It meant I had to continue my trip at night and got home after midnight - but totally worth it. This shows a few settling to feed on seeding grasses.

Has anyone made a replica of the Maltese Falcon out of chocolate, because if not, they should.

remember stuff like this when they tell you that diversity means a lowering of standards

in many ways I'm not enjoying myself with this drawing, but I'm persisting anyway. The good thing about drawing an abandoned wooden building is it doesn't matter if the lines are off, because the buildings tend to be warped and distorted anyway. #artistsofbluesky #weeklysketch

More than a sketch this time - melting snow on moss in May. Because the scene doesn't have a clear focal point and just consists of moss and foliage and snow blobs, it was surprisingly hard to draw! #artistsofbluesky #markerdrawing

✨WHEEZING✨

I have absolutely no patience for anyone making Harry Potter references in 2025. The author has been a vocal transphobe for years, who's used her money and influence to deliberately harm trans women. There's no excuse.

I've built a machine that can be Confidently Wrong. It can also make pictures that all look a bit the same, as well as make a video of you kissing any celebrity or person you know. In payment, I'd like to boil the world's oceans dry, & steal all literature. For some reason, my head is not on a spike

A pink cockatoo near Lake Hart from 2019. Some people get their knickers in a twist over the change of name (they used to be called Major Mitchell cockatoos) but bird names are often changed. Nobody seems to care that the Horsfield's bushlark is now called the singing bushlark.

Searching the old employment websites, and what can I say but some employers have a lot of cheek.

If you want to do something tangible and easy right now to fight rising neo-fascism, support your local library, borrow books, donate coffee money to Wikipedia, support local bookstores, readings and poetry events. Delete the apps, unsubscribe. These things make a difference.

Finally got some photos of a male Anna's where the gorget is lit up 🔥

When I moved to Finland and started getting chickens from Lidl, I noticed how much longer they took to cook. My usual timings of 1 hr for a roast were totally off. It took me a few goes to work out that it's because the chickens are trussed here, and it takes them twice as long to cook.

Opened a pad of watercolour paper I probably haven't touched since 2017 and found a delightful set of pharmacy jars I'd painted, presumably to form into some kind of fabric design #artistsofbluesky #surpriseart #watercolourpainting

My parents sent me a photo of Pied Oystercatchers from the Australian South Coast. I recollected that I'd seen Pied Oystercatchers here (Finland) and thought "that's a pretty long migration, but it's not unheard of for waterbirds." But no, they're two separate species that just look exactly the same

I love job hunting in Finland. For instance, I would have been able to apply for this job but I'm not a man.
