Now that Nintendo is embracing the "classic mario" aesthetic, more YouTubers need to become familiar with the names Yoichi Kotabe and Shigehisa Nakaue. Kotabe solidified the 2D Mario look in the late 80s and early 90s, and Nakaue has been carrying that torch in newer games.

In Zelda 2, Link has to play on his recorder to make the river devil blocking the path disappear. Does it die? Just walk away? We don't know. The sprite simply vanishes off the map. I drew two possibilities as a joke :P
