Awesome Blu-ray/4K news is keeping me going. So much good stuff is being prepped.

Grew up with the Peanuts features. Feels like they're slept on these days!

Instocktrades order is all about the Edo Period.

Well, things are still crazy out there (waves vaguely). But I'm watching "Robot Monster" with my sweetie, and the "Ro-Man" is still one of my favorite movie monsters. Which reminds me, a few years back I was documenting some fave robots for my lockdown journal. Let's time travel...

This will kill people.

Me watching Showa tokusatsu

Seriously one thing I think is really underrated about Fury Road is how the villains are a handful of gerontocrats, physically weak oligarchs who have resource hoarded / socially manipulated the young to doing their violent bidding.

Nursing a take that the major Silicon Valley firms can be understood as organized crime syndicates and perform some of the same functions as the old ones used to — money laundering, feeding addictions, skirting regulations, political influence.

Carrol Ballard's Never Cry Wolf is amazing and I'm pretty sure the verson on a popular free streamer is totally bootleg so watch it while you can!

Now this is a blast from the past! Several cartoons featuring classic characters fell into the public domain, so low-rent tapes of them were everywhere. Cheap packaging was the norm, but here they made the whole enterprise look prestigious!

I feel like this is sneakily one of the most influential films ever.

likely needless to say, but: i loved MICKEY 17. it's beautiful, funny, strange, and really touching — i don't know how else to put it, but: it may be an american blockbuster, but at the same time, it doesn't feel any less korean.

Coming to 4K UHD in May from @Criterion The Three Musketeers / The Four Musketeers: Two Films by Richard Lester #FilmSky

I rode the back of the bus. I buried Dr. King. You want me to participate in your little hate-a-thon against some other group? Kindly kiss my black ass.

I wish Criterion would release all those Juzo Itami films they have the rights to...

New (well, rebooted) boutique blu-ray label comes out swinging with initial lineup. Love to see it!

Next week. Hope you're in on it. www.darkhorse.com/Books/3015-3...

Check this out: the monologue from William S. Burroughs’ novella QUEER appears in both the recent Luca Guadagnino adaptation and in David Cronenberg’s NAKED LUNCH. Both deviate but between the two, you mostly get the whole monologue. vimeo.com/1055014769

Really enjoying Kamen Rider V3, but I'm dissapointed it gave up on the format of its earliest episodes, where every story was a two-parter where Rider would challenge two different monsters concurrently. It was fun not knowing which bad guy would get got first and which would be the final boss.

No night spent staying up watching Ti Lung wuxia movies is wasted.
