I'm not teaching my grad course 'Civil Resistance: How It Works' this semester. But here is an abridged version of the course schedule, readings, and films I used the last time I taught it (in 2022). Just in case it's useful. drive.google.com/file/d/14RRJ...

Guess congress should have done something to stop the Supreme Court from turning the presidency into a monarchy huh

You can watch the Trump administration play DEI whac-a-mole with employee policies and public websites on GitHub, which is automatically cataloguing all of the changes the 18F agency is frantically making to its internal and external webpages: www.404media.co/github-is-sh...

Frankly banning x links should be happening regardless of the Nazi at the helm. The site does not produce useful, reliable information and hasn’t for some time

Records that truly sound better on #vinyl Something about the vinyl master for Rundgren's "A Wizard, a True Star" always beats out digital versions for me. Even on a clean copy there's a grimy analog graininess that suits the druggy psychedelia perfectly. Each side works as a non-stop listen #music

Listening to David Lynch talk about the act of creating art has been as much of an influence on my life as his works. We're so fortunate to have experienced his gifts.

a lesson people oughta take from the rise of bluesky is that buying into anybody's claimed hegemony online is dopey. Facebook didn't used to exist, neither did Instagram or TikTok or any of this stuff. as soon as any platform starts to stink no sentimental attachment is practical or good. bail ASAP

Furry Devo parody "Strange Fursuit"

all art is made from spite or horniness, and a computer cannot be spiteful or horny, so a computer should never make art

I'll be joining some like-minded folks for RJ MYATO's birthday party at Vicious Circle this friday 1/10/2025. Electro-acoustic fingerpicking drone jam style, most likely.

I'm ending my Duolingo streak today. Almost 1700 days but at least two years of that was simply doing the minimum possible to keep the streak going. I play it for the gamification and have to acknowledge that if I was learning from it I've stopped. Maybe I'll resume some day.
