There's a lot of bad out there, but today's NYT Strands made me smile.

It is 100 percent their fault. They intentionally shut out AOC in favor of an old white guy with cancer. They turned Harris's "fuck those people are so weird" campaign vibe into standard James Carville pablum. It is their fault. And we are all paying the price.

it’s becoming increasingly clear the goal of the far right is to defund and buy up every source of reliable information until there is no more objective reality to counter them

Just so everyone is clear, Musk did a seig heil to troll the libs and also because he's a Nazi.

dumb ass liberals keep going “see it’s a publicity stunt!” and well yes the thing about publicity stunts is they typically work! democrats are allergic to doing anything that people might like it’s infuriating

Sorta pitch-perfect Bidenism: take a high-profile Trump stunt, turn it into bipartisan law in the name of national security, defend it to the hilt until queasily attempting to walk it back last minute, then let Trump reverse his original position in a way that is both popular and corrupt

I think Americans who weren’t on TikTok don’t understand how thoroughly Democrats shit the bed on this one over the past year. Don’t worry though, that’s just 170 million people, including 60% of adults under 30.

Dem leadership have had a lot of strategic own-goals over the years but the TikTok ban might be the dumbest. Simultaneously alienating young voters, looking like craven shills for the same bro oligarchs who went all in for Trump, and also giving Trump a chance to be the hero when he "saves" the app.

My digestive system is like Aaron Rogers: A hall of fame career that peaked 10 years ago and has been on a slow, steady decline ever since, which it blames on everyone else on the team, and will go on delusional rants about soy if you call him out on it.

In the absence of public airing of the evidence of what apparently made TikTok so much more of a national security and data privacy threat than FB, IG, X, or YT, it just looks like those companies lobbied/donated their biggest competitor out of business.

Nikki Glaser should host everything.

Just bailed on a family gathering to go outside and fart for a while.

I would never celebrate or encourage murder, and the only change the United HC CEO killing is likely to lead to is a massive windfall for private security companies, but spare me the moral hand-wringing and tone-policing.

I've been here for a bit, but happy for any starter pack recs anyone wants to pass on. Looking for comedians, NYC/NYS political nerds and dog content.

Just thinking about the thousands of fraught Chicagoland Thanksgivings that were already hanging by a thread before the Bears collapsed like that. #thoughtsandprayers

The Berlin Wall coming down and the end of Apartheid in South Africa were basically the first world events I was really aware of. It really felt like things were getting better for everyone, and in terms of improved living conditions outside of the West, they absolutely were.

They have so rarely won the popular vote in the past couple decades that it feels like a sea change when they do, apparently.

The thing that is bothering me the most about the post election coverage is the fact that Trump won the popular vote this year with fewer votes than he got in 2020 and somehow this means he has an overwhelming mandate.

Oddly, you never hear Fox News viewers criticized or even questioned for inhabiting a hermetically sealed bubble. It’s almost as if this entire canard is about the right’s ability to infect, infest, and dominate us.

Let's strive to make this a place conservatives would call an "echo chamber." Bluesky is full of diverse voices; the reason *they* hear an echo isn't because there aren't perspectives to hear, it's because they only listen to their own perspectives and we're no longer interested in absorbing it.

Serrano was robbed.

Amidst challenges and sorrows, humanity's pursuit of joy and hope demonstrates our resilience. We unite in seeking balance, each contributing to a global effort that illuminates life's darker moments with joy's gentle radiance. From the Yukon, I am sending joy, hope and positivity.

It's absurd and counterproductive just how hard Democrats work to portray themselves as bipartisan and happy to work with Republicans. There's no evidence it helps! All it does is normalize and validate Republicans! Lean into to negative partisanship. Tell your constituents the truth about the GOP.

Does anyone figured out how to explain how Harris got so many fewer votes than Biden did in 2020? I'm definitely not suggesting there was anything nefarious, and I'm sure there were potentially 11 million different reasons, but I'm really curious if there's any data yet.

The second one is Trump's primary strategy. The Trump team knows he's unpopular, hence minimal ground game and no interest in moderating message—the goal isn't to get votes. The goal is to gear up supporters for violence and to inspire GOP judges and legislators to overturn results.

My biggest complaint with NYC early voting is that the "I voted early" sticker came off my jacket after less than a day. Unacceptable. It should last at least the entire early voting period so I can feel smug.

It’s important to remind the Yankees fans in your life that there is precedent for a team coming back from down 0-3 in a playoff series. They need and love to hear it.

In April, USAID and the State Dept.’s refugees bureau concluded Israel had deliberately blocked humanitarian aid. By law, Biden would be required to cut off weapons shipments to Israel. But he ignored them. 📽️ See the full video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=PV9J... 👀 Read the story: propub.li/3Xxtvfe
