The Trump administration is canceling presentations including book talks on important civil rights issues at the Carter Center & possibly elsewhere. Let’s celebrate these authors by buying & reading their books. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/22/a...

US officials are reportedly threatening to revoke Starlink access for Ukraine if they don’t give us 50% of their mineral rights. That’s not diplomacy, it’s extortion. We’re also pushing them to kill a UN Resolution that blames Russia for starting the war. Facts matter.

🇺🇸 TIME cover when Trump first became President. Unfortunately, fits current events…

This will mean that Putin and his troops will be further emboldened to commit atrocities. Civilians who may have been spared may be killed - POWs who may otherwise be left alone now face increasing prospect of torture or abuse. And Trump's actions will be to blame in that case.

❗️Do you support 🇺🇦Ukraine, Ukrainian soldiers, and President Zelensky Yes or No?

🚤🇺🇦 SBU General "Hunter" shared footage of machine-gun naval drone with a range of 1,700 km. "They can protect the Black Sea from Russian naval drones for several days," he said.

Utterly absurd

Here is the original video. This is completely unacceptable behavior and should be condemned. It’s an insult to every American who died fighting the Nazis in the Second World War.

That is a Nazi salute. I will not pretend it’s anything but a Nazi salute. No one should support this.

I’m George Takei and I approve of this message.

The U.S. government is becoming dumber by the minute.

It's not just Trump and Musk. There are millions of Americans who agree with them, senators and congressmen who bow to them. The rot goes very deep in the U.S. It will take decades to repair the broken republic.

jobs.theguardian.com/job/9453352/... New job opening at Parliament for those in the UK. I do have concerns that it isn’t tenure track. 😂

We need to save some smoke for voters. Trump was very clear during the campaign that he planned to settle Russia's war on Ukraine quickly and on Putin's terms. 77 million people voted for him anyway, and now he's following through. American voters sold out our ally.

America has no king. America needs no king.

Great point! Hiring talent for stressful and essential jobs such as these require trust that their employer (the federal government) will have their back. If workers don’t have that trust in the institution then retaining and recruiting talent becomes quite difficult.

Trump's attacks on federal workers have led to a surge in union signups, according to AFGE. The union's goal was to hit 325K members by end of 2025 but they might hit it by end of this week. “I really want to send him an organizing award,” union prez says of Trump. www.huffpost.com/entry/afge-g...

The war diary of the late Ukrainian war novelist Victoria Amelina, with an introduction by the great Margaret Atwood. The days before and after the start of the war in Ukraine - despite being 3 years ago - simultaneously feel eons ago, and as fresh as yesterday.

Excited that my chapter on combat motivation of bomber crews in WWII is coming out along with some great scholarship!

This has been a long time coming! Thanks to @mike-bechthold.bsky.social for inviting me to submit my chapter on how the Canadian Army experienced air support in Normandy.

Pilot Captain Ivan Bolotov of Ukraine’s Air Force 831st Tactical Aviation Brigade… gone into the sky forever. He was 24.

This will be wizard!

The latest, 50th issue of The Aviation Historian is out. It contains my nine page, 5000 word feature article on the fascinating, unique flying careers of James Stewart - Hollywood film flyer, recreational flyer, air combat leader and veteran. An exceptional man. Get it: www.theaviationhistorian.com

I have had a lot of great experiences recording but this was one of my favorite sessions to do. First, @motheroftanks.bsky.social and Grant Harward are awesome! I also personally love studying and talking this lesser known but very large offensive.

If #DieHard is a Christmas movie because the setting is Christmas then so too are my Battle of the Bulge documentaries. Let’s see how that will fly with the rest of the family.

Aw nuts!

When it’s time to start flipping pancakes on a Saturday morning.

As we approach the Battle of the Bulge’s 80th anniversary we should remember it is a massive combined arms offensive that was stopped by the superior use of combined arms by the Allies.

I think the words Sauron might want to use are “goodwill gesture.”

The end of #WW2 in the Pacific was a moment of relief for those held in Japanese captivity and their families. Messages were often sent overseas by the families to former POWS. Unfortunately for some the effects of their captivity were too much to overcome. Albert Keays died on December 4, 1945.
