“The Democrats don’t know how to get people to pay attention” is not the win you think it is

30 Days of Gaming Day 27 - The Fast and Furious Game 1/ I love the idea of a game centered around racing. Fast and Furious would obviously be an influence, but I also love everything from Wacky Racers to Cannonball Run to Twisted Metal to Fury Road.

teacher: what does “agnostic” mean? me: I don’t know teacher: correct! how about “ambivalent”? me: *shrug* teacher: yes! how about “nihilistic”? me: what difference does any of this make? teacher: amazing

This is the crux of it. Have everything, still want what little you have.

Bezos destroying the post opinion pages is just another reminder: Conservatives think free speech is when they can say what they want and when you can say what they want.

This guy is awful. He has killed people. And still a doctor.

I’m reaching the point with arguments where I want to just respond with “that’s an interesting point. Counterpoint, maybe you should go fuck yourself.” It doesn’t win arguments, but it does let me tell a lot of people who really need to hear it to go fuck themselves.

Cartoonish supervillainy

Just wondering what the “Biden and Harris are just as bad” brigade are up to now that their lack of votes got us President Musk and his chaos incels

Ah yes, the car of a well-adjusted man with nothing to prove to anyone

The sad tenure of David Shipley at the Post - which slipped and slid from a silenced Harris endorsement, to a cancelled political cartoon, to this - is a helpful master class in how politely carrying water for authoritarians will eventually get you drowned.

30 Days of Games Day 26 - The Matrix Game 1/ The Matrix feels like a perfect setting for an RPG, and while there isn't an official one, this seems like the kind of thing you could put together with FATE or Apocalypse World. It would require a lot of home-brewing though.

There's been a few memes going around that if we liquidated Elon Musk's wealth we'd all get about $1000. I just want to put it out there that I'd be willing to bankrupt Elon Musk for free.

I wasn't as in love with Andor as a lot of my friends, but I did really love their finale... and for some reason, hearing the stories of the early days of rebellion against a fascist regime is exactly what I need right now.

30 Days of Games Day 25 - The '80s Game 1/ As long as I've been thinking about my Kaiju vs. Mech game, I've been building an 80s game in my head. Maybe something like a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, since Everyday Heroes has rules for Rambo, Total Recall, Highlander, and Escape from New York.

Before you realize this is about sports, this post is a little confusing and 10 times more awesome

30 Days of Games Day 24 - The Cyberpunk Game 1/I have many Cyberpunk games. There's Cyberpunk Red, based on the OG Cyberpunk 2013/2020 that I played the hell out of in college. There's Sprawl, an Apocalypse World-based game I've run a couple of times.

30 Days of Games Day 23 - The Avatar the Last Airbender Game 1/ I picked up the beautiful deluxe version of this game when it was Kickstarted. I love the Avatar world, I love that the RPG covers three eras (Kyoshi Era, Aang Era, Korra Era).

30 Days of Games Day 22 - The Time Travel Game 1/ Listen, I love me some time travel. I think if I were going to run one I'd run Fate of Cthulhu, which has a neat twist on the Cthulhu mythos, blending in a sort of Terminator vibe.

30 Days of Games Day 21 - The Arzium Game 1/ Last year at BGG I played Creature Caravan, by designer and artist Ryan Laukat. I was quite taken with it, and this world of sort of post-apocalyptic and yet also cozy fantasy seemed like a good fit for an RPG, so I picked that up as well.

30 Days of Games Day 20 - The Cypher System Game 1/ Mostly just because I have a lot of friends who rave about it, I want to run a game using Monte Cook's Cypher System. I have no idea what game it would be, they've got a lot of cool little worldbooks for it.

Theory: Everyone died on the SS Minnow except Gilligan, who washed up on shore. The tv show depicted his hallucinations after he contracted malaria and slowly dehydrated.

30 Days of Game Day 19 - The Ultimate Intrigue Game 1/ I have almost all of Pathfinder 1.0, and while some find it too crunchy (and I understand that), for me it's about as perfect as D&D 3.5 ever got. And there are *so* many options, and I like their world, albeit not as much as Eberron.

[after inhaling an insane amount of helium] not guilty your honor and I think this rap will prove it

30 Days of Games Day 18 - The Heist Game 1/ Another thing people know I love is heists. Monte Cook has a game, Stealing Stories For the Devil, about reality-warping thieves who can change realities with their story in service to heists, and it seems fun but does require me to learn another system.

30 Days of Games Day 17 - The Beach Cop Detectives Game 1/ Everyone who knows me knows that Terriers, a one season show about unlicensed detectives in San Diego, is one of my favorite shows. This game would be private detectives, with influences from Terriers to Elmore Leonard to Magnum, P.I.

30 Days of Games Day 16 - The Monster Rancher Campaign 1/ I've had this idea that a fun D&D campaign would be one where the PCs are essentially monster hunters, start them off hunting level one monsters and then basically go through the Monster Manual, finding the interesting ones for each level.
