"they don't respect the artform of ____ or respect it" But do they enjoy it? So what if they only watch basic anime or play sports games or got a vtuber model as a joke or only use starter decks for a tcg, or only read spiderman or batman books They are participating in the hobby and that's neat

Anytime anyone talks about the need to "gatekeep" a hobby I just assume the person is devoid of an actual personality and defines themselves by their hobby and that sucks. "We need to gatekeep VTubing" fucking why? Let people do it and have fun, as long as they aren't bigots it hurts nobody.
