If you think the headline is good, you should read the copy.

This is quite significant in many ways: the overt thuggery, Trump’s barely suppressed fury at being contradicted by a woman, the governor’s standing up, the total abandonment of the pretense of federalism, the continuing use of trans Americans the way Hitler used Jews.

Without going all Martin Niemöller here, I do think that it's bad not to speak up for immigrants, transgender Americans, civil servants, women, Ukraine, and everyone else the MAGA bullies are going after. We're beyond picking and choosing whom to defend. It's time to stand up and speak out.

This is why making contributions to DNC and other Dem organizations is so hard right now.

We don’t have a Senate majority, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to make this easy for them.   I refuse to sit around and let them install the architect of Project 2025 into the federal government without a fight.

It’s amazing to me that politicians don’t commit to post first on @bsky.app and to engage with constituents here THIS is more powerful than CNN , MSNBC, The Post will ever be. You can broadcast for 9 mins on a declining medium, or engage here and start a real discussion. Which is more powerful?

One of things I have heard homeowners say when asked about why don’t they install solar is HOA rules! Could there be state / federal regulation / legislation that prohibits HOAs from doing so?

Another key thing: Gabbard has *no* South Asian ancestry. Nobody in her family does! They’re all just members of this cult & fetishize their version of Hinduism. She regularly blurs this line and lets people misinterpret her first name to imply that she’s a member of our communities, but she is not.

The ABC News settlement makes zero sense from a legal standpoint. It assumes there is a moral or reputational difference between forcibly penetrating a woman’s vagina with fingers and doing so with a penis. It also assumes that Trump has a reputation that could suffer damage.

Kevin: "  The only thing I would take from all this discussion, and Van tell me if I'm right or wrong: When Republicans lose, we never say we have to have therapy." Sarah: "You just say you didn't lose." Kevin: "I never knew who she was until today."

Over on the bad site, right wingers are outraged that ProPublica gave Pete Hegseth 3 chances to correct bad information West Point gave them, and Mike Johnson is trying to distract from the $18M Justin Sun gave Trump and the tower the Saudis gave him.

This is an oligarchy. The founders never intended people to have this much power… EVER Stop the oligarchy

UPDATE: Here's an updated version of my recent column that corrects an erroneous photo caption and a refocus AG pick Pam Bondi toward the election lies she told at Philly news conferences and on Fox News in 2020. Earlier posts with the error have been deleted www.inquirer.com/opinion/pam-...

Is the media really doing this again? No, Donald Trump did not make his personal criminal defense lawyer the number two person at DOJ to "protect" the agency from Trump. Please stop.

What a strange headline for a story that notes: 1. 2,169 ballots were rejected for no ID. 2. "The voter ID law disproportionately hindered Democrats." 3. "The evidence overwhelmingly shows" that fraud "is essentially nonexistent." 4. The state Supreme Court race was decided by only 625 votes.

Could not agree with this more. Do not give in to the malignant normality no matter how many others accept it.

Got mad enough about this that I turned this thread into a blog. Kamala Harris did not engage in overt identity politics. Donald Trump did. It probably helped him. And yet, pundits like Weiss, Stephens & Dowd treat identity politics *only* as a failed Dem tactic. open.substack.com/pub/donmoyni...

I tossed my lesson plan today and talked about the election with my class, not to dictate my thoughts, but to get theirs. Here's what I learned from 24 twentysomethings. medium.com/@Brocktoon/n...

Hello Blueskiers. Here's a thread I just put on Twitter that several folks said Bluesky might also enjoy: threadreaderapp.com/thread/18520...

Florida Senator Rick Scott is up for re-election in a state with over one million Puerto Ricans.

I can't stop thinking about the fact that legacy media thinks Trump's McDonald's stunt is bigger news than Milley's comment about fascism.

Trump’s closing message is a full blown hate campaign against black and brown people. Historians will look back in astonishment that this terrifying reality wasn’t the subject of wall to wall coverage and commentary in weeks leading up to this election. He’s not hiding anything.

This is untenable for a democracy. We can’t have our rights destroyed by the fine print in thousands of TOS documents that literally no human has the time or capacity to read and that are not negotiable in any way. No.

my take in the times debate round up

EVERYONE! The *best* gov't agency on all of social media is now here.

When in the course of human events...

When Jeff Flake was in the Senate he was one of the 2 or 3 most conservative members. This is quite something.

Hey folks! My doctor is preparing a lecture on Long COVID treatments and is hoping to collect data on LC patients who have tried maraviroc or anti-coagulation treatments. If that's you, the survey link is below. It should take 2 minutes and is HIPAA compliant. Reposts appreciate for reach. :)
