Some more photos of the IO #Moth, #Automeris IO from last night. #fujifilm X-S10, #Laowa 65mm #Macro #MacroPhotography #photography #Invertebrates #insects #Invertefest

Found some tiny wasps today, if I had to guess maybe this one is an aphid mummy wasp #InverteFest

Thought I should post some not-moths for #InverteFest so... Have a snail!

Hi, @motherjones.com disabled disability reporter here, I really want to hear about how tariffs are impacting disabled, chronically ill, and aging folks. Reposts appreciated and my email is [email protected].

A day after launch, the response to these has been incredible! I'm about a third of the way to breaking even already 🥰 (please keep sharing!)

GTFO out of my face with "stop complaining about LLMs, they have legitimate uses in certain cases" dogshit has a legitimate use as fertilizer but if they were adding it to everyone's food you bet your ass I would be complaining about that too

Sometimes people stole eels, but sometimes eel fishing was a gateway to greater crimes. In 1667, 2 Lambeth men out fishing eels in Chatham harbor stole a quantity of twice-laid rope from the nearby HMS Vanguard. The harbor clerk who arrested them was quite annoyed. 🗃️🧪

My lovely other half is trying to find a contraction for me doing 'flammable jazz hands'. Possibly flammajands?? (You gotta squeeze some fun from this shit.) I have to go see the hand physio soon, who is the scariest most serious clinician ever. Not sure whether to say pray for me or for her TBH.

Last of the six mini dragons available on the 1st May is this little black dragon. They all launch at 6pm BST tomorrow via my newsletter. Be sure to be signed up (link in bio!) if you want to adopt one of these adorable little chaps! #watercolour #blackdragon #watercolour #painting #fantasyart

Good morning #InverteFest. No moth trap today, so here's some bug art from my Insecta deck. I illustrated each card in colour pencil, & drew each insect individually (no copy-pasting of bugs, even on the high number cards.) You can get the last few decks, prints, etc at lycomorpha.etsy.com 🐞🐝🐜

It's slightly killing me that all the drawing I've been working on the past 2-3 months are things I can't share for awhile/til after publication… Because I'm really fucking pleased with them?!?! For a tiny spoonie with fucked up hands and eyeballs? I can fucking draw. Batshit, eh? 🙃

grackle does NOT approve

Y'know, as someone who's both disabled and trans, I find it a little telling that some politicians seem to think of disabled toilets as existing as dumping grounds for undesirable groups rather than because stalls in regular toilets aren't generally accessible to a lot of disabled folks.

For people wondering why the UK's Equality And Human Rights Commission is acting counter to human rights, I'll c+p a combination of threads from a couple of years ago. They cover the systemic attack on many marginalised communities by idealogues trying to dismantle human rights law. 1/

In today's what the actual audacity: I've been asked to speak for free on the barriers faced by blind people... by the Labour party. I explained that giving up working hours without payment while I have to cover the cost of childcare would create a financial disadvantage. The response? It's online

Also in this morning's trap: - Muslin moth - Hebrew character - Set-square moth AKA common plume #InverteFest

Day 3 (I was informed Sat. was day 3, not 4) of #InverteFest: a seriously fine moth, the aptly-named Ramadasa pavo. I let out a little gasp when @hkmoths.bsky.social mentioned its name when we were checking the traps. Though it flew away shortly after, it soon arrived again.

Resharing this beachy comic for #Invertefest

#InverteFest is inclusive 23-30 April right? 30th still counts? Working out best nights to turn moth trap on. I mostly put it on every other night. Wasn't so much in the trap this morning, but still don't want my chonky friend to spend a 2nd night int trap when it could be out making baby hawkmoths
