Sometimes people stole eels, but sometimes eel fishing was a gateway to greater crimes. In 1667, 2 Lambeth men out fishing eels in Chatham harbor stole a quantity of twice-laid rope from the nearby HMS Vanguard. The harbor clerk who arrested them was quite annoyed. 🗃️🧪

Y'know, as someone who's both disabled and trans, I find it a little telling that some politicians seem to think of disabled toilets as existing as dumping grounds for undesirable groups rather than because stalls in regular toilets aren't generally accessible to a lot of disabled folks.

Day 3 (I was informed Sat. was day 3, not 4) of #InverteFest: a seriously fine moth, the aptly-named Ramadasa pavo. I let out a little gasp when @hkmoths.bsky.social mentioned its name when we were checking the traps. Though it flew away shortly after, it soon arrived again.

#InverteFest is inclusive 23-30 April right? 30th still counts? Working out best nights to turn moth trap on. I mostly put it on every other night. Wasn't so much in the trap this morning, but still don't want my chonky friend to spend a 2nd night int trap when it could be out making baby hawkmoths
