look I understand “introvert” mentalities but there are few greater joys than just seeing a neighbor and having them over to chat and eat snacks. all my neighbors are so cool. And I know I live in Oakland so that’s a high probability but yours might be cool too!

The other day, I had a revelation at therapy. Maybe this will be embarrassing, something everybody else figured out a long time ago. I thought it could be helpful! I realized that I have always come up with excuses NOT to do things, instead of reasons TO do something, and they are self-reinforcing.

You can find all the Midwest girlies because we call it Joann's, possessive, lol. I don't know why this is, but we do this with everything. Kroger's, Meijer's, ALDI's. 😅 But seriously, this is such a shame. Sad to see such a prominent store from my childhood kick the bucket.😔

did u know there's no such thing as an "ideas guy"? approximately 100% of the creative process occurs in the process of creating. whether an idea is bad or good starts and ends with how well you can execute it. the term for someone who has a lot of ideas and doesn't make them is "normal regular guy"

I’m reading this book called “The Dip” by Seth Godin. He describes Jack Welch (*spit*) like this: “When Jack Welch remade GE, the most fabled decision he made was this: if we can’t be #1 or #2 in an industry, we must get out. Why? It teaches people it’s okay to not be the best in the world.” ???

When I was growing up, I sang a lot of hymns at church. And let me just say--a lot of hymns are straight bangers. I wish we could sing them at my Unitarian "church," but the lyrics of those hymns are kind of...fucked? They're not sentiments I think translate into a secular environment.
