RIP, king www.vulture.com/article/davi...

A girl I knew in college saw David Lynch speak at an event. When it ended, she found a way to get to the front to tell him how much his films and shows meant to her. His response was “Thank you. And remember, the universe is in your basement.”

Thanks to all for your kind remembrances on this awful day. Words will come later. Only feelings at the moment. Mourn and remember him but don’t forget to celebrate too. We won’t see his like again. The man from another place has gone home. #DavidLynch #TwinPeaks

Such sad news about David Lynch. The greatest of the greats. At the age of 14 I rented his films from our local video store over and over again. I still remember that buzzy, electric feeling of being inspired to the depths of my soul and feeling like anything was possible if these films existed.

RIP to the great David Lynch, the damn greatest to ever do it.

Merry Christmas to all you humans, Replicants, and everything in between 🦉🎄❄️

In interviews, David Lynch has commented on Stanley Kubrick’s screening of Eraserhead (around the time Lynch was in London making The Elephant Man). Here’s and an anecdote from someone who was at that screening (from “Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining” by Rinzler and Unkrich):

Merry Christmas to all, and to all...gotta light? 🎄

Happy (tomorrow) birthday to the GOAT

Let us NEEL before our lord the maker

The new Star War has a Werewolf Pirate (a dude in a really good looking rubber mask) so that's how you know it's a good one

Christmas has come early

@noscoredraws.bsky.social done Rasmus Hojlund yet?

Star Wars "became" a film for kids? I love Denis but this really proves why he'd be a terrible choice to make one of these anyway.

Bohemian Rhapsody is a real taste barometer

For me, it's the 3rd best Indy.

Max Verstappen claims his third legitimately earned World Drivers' Championship.

Imagine NOT wanting your Oz movie to look like a dream

this is a perfectly stated embodiment of how so many filmmakers have come to see the artifice of film as something to hide and in doing so paradoxically makes their movies look and feel incredibly artificial
