For the best salads in Montreal, I always go to Mandy's. Their cookbook is on sale in Amazon Canada. Just saying.

#Montreal #desserts Trompe l’oeil pastries from ÔFauria in Laval, maybe 1 of 3 shops in Greater Montreal to follow the trend re-started by Cedric Grolet in France. Expensive ($19 each!) but really cool and delish. I took macaron lessons from chef Faure, happy to see the place was packed. ofauria.com

The White House before and after. My, an image really is worth a thousand words. In plated gold, obvs. 🙈

´The man in black fled across the desert, and Mrs. Dalloway followed.´

#whatscooking Testing for new cookbook, pesto and parmesan flaky pastry straws. So easy it’s a wonder I never made these sooner (with store-bought pastry, let’s be real). 🍽️🍜

Fun: ask Chat what it knows about you from interactions. «You prefer in-depth explanations rather than simplified ones. Your writing shows strong skills in investigation, fact-checking, and conceptual depth. You value precision, elegance, thoughtful articulation.» Oh, and I like melancholic music! 🙈

This interview with LaCivita stuns on many levels, not least how he accuses “dumb” Europe of creating ”social paradises”, as if taking care of your people is damning. The mindset of the entitled not seeing democracy as a tool for the betterment of all is why the US is self-destructing right now.

This AI-generated short story by OpenAI is controversial for implicitely revealing it HAS been training on copyright fiction. It’s also so good it hurts on every level. Our world just turned on a dime. www.theguardian.com/books/2025/m...

Sans mot - puisqu’il les énonce tous. (To American friends, go to YouTube, put caption and listen to what Europe is saying, it’s a lesson and a blueprint.) youtu.be/G-lh0TUTtvI?...

I missed that. Wow. #elbowsup

Trump tweeting Trudeau wants to use the trade war as a means to stay is straight out of the divide and conquer playbook, trying to make Poilievre attack Trudeau and others break our united front. Hopefully Canadians will show him we are not as gullible as Maga. Don’t fall for it, people. 💪🖕

Proud of Trudeau’s speech today. Dumb, bogus, “make it make sense”. The right words no longer going unspoken. Yes, Canadians are angry and insulted. Our household is weaning off American products (but admittedly not US platforms, I am aware of the irony 🙈🤢😭).

To anyone who watched Hegseth’s Senate hearing, it’s no surprise although he testified he had nothing per se against women in the military. The Trump-nominated Supreme Court justices used the same playbook. Who me? Of course not. Never. Fake news. Whaaat? Cross my heart, senator. Buy you a drink?

Presque des Canadiens, oui. Et le sourire narquois qui dit: If you get it, you get it. If you don’t, I don’t care. Lol.

I had knee surgery 18 months ago, I spent a few days in hospital listening to Walter Isaacson’s bio of Vinci, my idol (Leo, not Walter). My friends and families were shaking their heads, like, so typical of her lol. Stories like this are my life. www.cnn.com/2025/03/01/s...

Meritocracy or privilege? As the US dismantles DEI in the name of white men's bruised feelings, a speech about failing up. A good companion listen to this: vm.tiktok.com/ZMkocSKUU/

Ça fait de plus en plus peur.

Tonight my 18 yr old arrived in Peru on a student volunteering and tourism trip with his school. They will take a day off to Aguas Calientes if anyone has tips on the best way to enjoy the town and Machu Picchu. To think he was 2 years old a second ago… #mommyblues #emptynest #Canadaproud

I love historical fiction but all-men war novels, not so much. I actually restarted halfway through the audiobook so I could read the ebook at the same time because there are many characters and I was getting confused. Amazing narration by Bronson Pinchot and I was not a fan of his before either…

The last day before petals fall. After 20yrs, he still brings flowers for Valentine’s Day. It took his (then) 12yr-old son telling him ´she doesn’t like roses’ for him to seek out tulips. He does. I blame reading Dumas’ La tulipe noire as a teen for my devotion to this simple flower with no perfume.
