There are nice kids doing nice things out there. My latest for #MyBurbankNews #burbank myburbank.com/burbank-midd...

💧 Tomorrow, MWD votes on $150M for the Delta Conveyance Project, a key step to modernizing CA’s water system. This impacts all of us, especially State Water Project-reliant communities like #Burbank. I wrote about it for myBurbankNews—give it a read, comment & share! #DeltaConveyance

If the sleek, towering Hoover Dam is the perfect red lipstick in a chic silver case, then the massive Oroville Dam is the humble wedge sponge—blending seamlessly into the landscape, unglamorous but just as effective. #killyourdarlings #RIPbestline #writeandrewrite

Did you know? Burbank doesn’t have the rights to capture the rainwater running down its streets during storms. 💧 This surprising fact has big implications for water sustainability—and it’s one reason why the Delta Conveyance Project matters. More on this in my latest piece for MyBurbank 👇

Next up on Thanksgiving reading list was this warm hug of a book by the author of The Midnight Library. In it a 72yo gains magical powers and helps save Ibiza from an environmentally destructive hotel. 💚 I want magic powers so badly

My Thanksgiving of reading started off with Michael Lewis’s bio piece on Sam Bankman-Fried. Engrossing, complex, interesting. Not a hagiography as people accused him of writing

Just so you know, if you ever get an email from me at 8:00 a.m., it’s because I wrote it the night before at 9:00 p.m. and scheduled it to look like I work regular hours. BlueSky, where is the schedule feature? 🤞

Airlines used to provide free playing cards on flights, among other amenities; however yesterday I paid $8 for Southwest Air’s slow WiFi. Is this what’s meant by late stage capitalism

Running a meeting is supposed to be about listening and synthesizing more, and talking less. But when I’m in charge it's so tempting to talk more! How do you resist the temptation to over-share your opinions when running a meeting and find a way to solicit more conversation from the participants?

Please pass this news along. Burbank and BUSD families in need can sign up for free holiday gifts and groceries by November 22. You never know who needs the help this holiday season. myburbank.com/sign-up-for-...

Are public comment periods effective anymore? I'm reflecting on watching various local agencies (City of L.A. comes to mind) conducting these periods of public comment and wondering if it's time to look at a new way of collecting input, via polls, online forums, etc.

SoCal Water Coalition Exec Dir Charley Wilson makes some great points about #DeltaConveyance at today’s MWD workshop, comparing it to investments in your house. 🏠 #cawater

💦 Proud of Charley Wilson for championing our water future at today's MWD #DeltaConveyance workshop! His insights and leadership are invaluable in SoCal's water resilience. Let's support this critical cause! #ProudColleague #deltaconveyance #cawater #SecureOurWaterFuture #socalwatercoalition

AI writing tools are here to stay. All I ask is that you treat it like you would the work of an intern or a brand new associate. It’s a first draft. It will always need refinement.

Who’s tuning in to MWD One Water committee on Monday 11/18 to see the Delta Conveyance pro and con panels? Sounds like an interesting way to get commentary without the usual public comment format. #cawater #deltaconveyance

Howdy! Where are my #cawater people at? Also, where are my #BB26 fans at?
