Meta's Yann LeCun warned there could be an exodus of US-based scientists due to Trump's funding cuts.

"In his first term, Trump failed to build a wall. He failed to marshal the resources from Congress, failed to gain a consensus of American opinion and failed at everything administrations do in a democracy to advance policy."

Federal employees must list what they accomplished this week or be fired....brought to you by the republican party - this republican party....this republican congress.

"Unfortunately, rather than be shocked by each time Trump or one of his closest allies utter something openly authoritarian, we need to take a step back and realize that the Republican Party has become an authoritarian political party."

Trump id quoting a favorable poll, others quoting unfavorable polls, how long are we pretending any of these polls tell us anything? Look at their record in the elections! They have been nonsense for a long time!

If members of Congress—like Rep. Grothman —are this clueless about what the man who is dismantling our government is saying and promising, they don’t deserve to keep their jobs! This woman is in his face, begging him to wake TF up—and he just walks off. Pathetic.

"It's almost impossible to believe he exists. It's as if you took everything that was bad about America, scraped it off the floor, put it in an old hot dog skin & taught it to make noises with its mouth" #PRESIDEMENTIA

I’m shocked.

This is quite significant in many ways: the overt thuggery, Trump’s barely suppressed fury at being contradicted by a woman, the governor’s standing up, the total abandonment of the pretense of federalism, the continuing use of trans Americans the way Hitler used Jews.

“If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.” A classic quote from Malcolm X, who was assassinated 60 years ago today.

🫡🇺🇸 "Americans do not swear an oath to a king, a tyrant or a dictator. We swear an oath to the Constitution and the idea of America, for which we are willing to die," — Mark Milley ❗️He said that every US military member gives his life to protect the Constitution, not to individuals.

Better not call it a “vaccine” or it might not get approved. Maybe market it as a recreational drug.

A defining policy battle is about to come to a head in this country. The Republican budget will force everyone - especially Congress and the White House - to make plain whether they are prepared to harm the rest of us in order to fund tax cuts for the wealthiest.

JPMORGAN: “.. the term ‘Department of Government Efficiency’ has appeared in more than 20 New York Times articles in the last two days alone. This attention level gives the impression that spending cuts, either realized or imminent, are dramatic. The reality so far is more mundane.”
