We're excited to share that the 4th Table Representation Learning (TRL) workshop will be held at ACL 2025 in Vienna πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ί We invite papers on all things LLMs/ML and tabular data! table-representation-learning.github.io/ACL2025/ In 2025, TRL@ACL being in Europe and in summer complements TRL@NeurIPS β˜€οΈ

Who’s with me to nominate GaΓ«l Varoquaux @gaelvaroquaux.bsky.social for ELLIS membership? From there I assume others will take it to scholar/fellow :).

Join us on 27 Feb in Amsterdam for the ELLIS workshop on Representation Learning and Generative Models for Structured Data ✨ sites.google.com/view/rl-and-... Inspiring talks by @eisenjulian.bsky.social, @neuralnoise.com, Frank Hutter, Vaishali Pal, TBC. We welcome extended abstracts until 31 Jan!

πŸ€– Our year begins with talk of #AI – but in a different way. @madelonhulsebos.bsky.social and Romina Colman explain you how and why we're integrating artificial intelligence into the #OpenDataEditor taking into account #transparency, #privacy and #functionality. 🦾 https://buff.ly/4a9S206

We’ve had a wonderful edition of the Table Representation Learning workshop @NeurIPS 2024! Thanks to all for bringing such great energy and contributions! This was the 3rd edition and it's so great to see the interest in ML for tables, as well as the diversity and quality of TRL research rising πŸš€.

@madelonhulsebos.bsky.social kicking off the 3rd Table Representation Learning workshop (@trl-research.bsky.social) at NeurIPS 2024. First keynote by @gaelvaroquaux.bsky.social.

Excited to hear about all the great work people have been working on! It's amazing to see this community grow and become stronger every year 🀩. Impact assured.

No better way to start the day than with some quiet beautiful views of Canadian nature, before jumping into NeurIPS vibes ✨

Can't wait to appear in "The Story of AI" neurips.cc/Conferences/... πŸ™ƒ OK, off to NeurIPS for the 3rd Table Representation Learning workshop 🀩 table-representation-learning.github.io 14 Dec 8:30AM! Will also present the TARGET benchmark for table retrieval target-benchmark.github.io 🎯! DM for β˜•!

In the middle of the AI buzz in ZΓΌrich... I really enjoyed my visit to ETH to talk about Table Representation Learning and Data Systems, and meet the excellent Systems Group! Thanks to Ana and Gustavo for hosting me so wonderfully! πŸ™ πŸ–‡οΈ www.madelonhulsebos.com/assets/eth_c... Bottom line:

Some pictures of the CWI lectures on database architecture, more here: cwida.github.io/dbdbd2024/di... πŸ™ to Marcin Zukowski + @andypavlo.bsky.social @madelonhulsebos.bsky.social @hannes.muehleisen.org, Viktor Leis & Allison Lee for their contributions, but also to all who attended!

WIP starterpack w researchers on Table Representation Learning (TRL): all things related to representation learning and generative models for e.g. tables, DBs, spreadsheets! I'll curate but DM/reply w handle+some info welcome! Also follow @trl-research.bsky.social for updates πŸ€— go.bsky.app/4SNSMRj

For those of you based in the low countries, I put together a quick started pack with folks in the AI, ML, and Stats communities. Do let me know if you would like to be listed! go.bsky.app/LFHNMNk

Great to see how my X timeline is even worse than it already was, following the big migration. Wonder how πŸ¦‹ will sustain though, hopefully w/o ads, selling data / ownership for influence. I'd be happy to donate $1-2 pm w/o benefits if the "custom domain" approach doesn't work out. Wikipedia style?

As people are slowly moving over, I thought I'd make a list of people on here who work on IR & RecSys in Amsterdam. Who am I missing? Both researchers and engineers :) go.bsky.app/BzPgLK2

πŸš€ The 60 Accepted Papers and (tentative) Program for the 3rd Table Representation Learning workshop @NeurIPS '24 are out at: table-representation-learning.github.io! Also, reply or DM @madelonhulsebos.bsky.social if you/others should be added to the TRL researcher starterpack: go.bsky.app/4SNSMRj!

A brief introduction of myself should be a good idea after moving from the other platform to here :) I'm a second-year PhD student at the University of #Amsterdam πŸ‡³πŸ‡±, working on Recommender Systems #RecSys and Information Retrieval #IR.
