After testing AI Chatbots’ knowledge on topics I’m familiar with—including myself, my company, and the projects I’m involved in—I’ve noticed that most of the content they reference comes from the open web.

I much preferred it when I didn't have to think about the US president every day.

Shout out to DaisyDisk daisydiskapp.com an awesome little app to find what's taking space on your Mac. Well worth the 10$ I was able to reclaim 20% of my hard drive in 5 minutes. I'm sure there are cheaper solutions, but I've been using this for year, and it's always a delight. #tech #mac

LinkedIn is the network where I have the most reach. It does feel like a bit of a failure.

Is it too soon for Europeans to mock Americans for blocking a popular foreign tech firm with overreaching regulation?

Saw the movie Souleymane's Story www.imdb.com/title/tt3208... yesterday. It was really really good. Both thrilling as a movie and super well documented on what migrants are facing in France (or in Belgium) when trying to survive and get asylum. Very much recommended. #immigration #movies

Have a nice last evening in 2024, everybody, and an even better year 2025!!!

Population Trends by Continent: Projections to 2100 Africa's population, after surpassing Europe's in 1995, is projected to continue its rapid growth. In contrast, Asia's population is expected to peak in 2054 and then begin to decline.

I've been critical of AI stuff in the past, but for learning, it's really helpful. When I had questions about math last week, when trying to help my daughter (who succeeded by the way 😄), it unblocked me multiple times.

Quelques précisions sur l’auteur de l’attentat néonazi de Magdebourg.

I had to do emergency brush up on conic sections yesterday to help my daughter for her exams. I kinda enjoyed that, but not sure she did 🤷‍♂️

Twitter default feed looks more and more like the email chains that my 90 years old uncle used to forward, with a lot of conspiracy theories and bad taste jokes.

In case of doubt, don't send the message.

There are fashions in music, clothes but also in technology, management and politics. It's always good to ask yourself if you're doing something because it's fashionable or because it makes sense. That said, it often does make a lot of sense to just look fashionable....

Ever wondered why walking around museums is weirdly tiring? At normal speed our legs act like pendulums, swinging forward from the hip & saving us a huge amount of energy. In "museum shuffle" our muscles must do ALL the work of constant readjustment. So cake in the cafe is scientifically justified 🥳

Ursula giving you the thumbs up if you accept cookies on posthog.com. I laughed, it worked.

Just spent an hour just triaging all my open tabs 🤷‍♂️

I saw a teacher complain that ChatGPT has led to students submitting papers full of mediocre ideas with perfect grammar and I can’t get over how spot-on that description is.

Pricing for Microsoft PowerBI dedicated servers. Yes, that hurts. And you need such dedicated servers to be able to use some of the advanced API features. So, PowerBI, it's cheap, until it's really not.

One reason why Brussels is cool these days: "Non-Belgians now account for almost 40% of the region's population. French top the list, followed by Romanians, Italians, Moroccans and Spaniards." www.brusselstimes.com/brussels-2/1... #brussels

It's been well over 10 years now, but I'm still not over the fact that most frontend applications need a build toolchain.

It's World AIDS day. The red ribbon symbolism is interesting: - red for love (and not pink, because it's not only LGBTQIA+) - it's the infinity sign, but broken, symbol of death - it was created around the death of Freddie Mercury

My take on AI and environment is that it’s like planes: not using them will put our company at too much of a competitive disadvantage. I'm not too happy about that, but I really think that's true.

Is "data lake" the technical name for "a mess"?

Wondering why the defrost feature of my microwave is using a non linear function to compute durations: - 100g: 30 seconds - 200g: 2 minutes - 700g: 11 minutes So, if you want to defrost that 700g bread, doing it in 7 batches is way faster 🤷‍♂️ Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Love this song. Caught my ear when watching the Bear. www.youtube.com/watch?v=eN1f...

I love playing guitar, because for a few minutes, I have to focus completely on something, and it makes me forget all the rest. Very relaxing.

Writing a support contract that is satisfying for all sides is an impossible task: if there are problems, support is too costly for the vendor, if there are no problems, support is too costly for the client.
