So the rich really are stealing from the poor?

Remember: The fundamental issue isn’t the size of the government or how to make government more “efficient.”  It’s who our government is for. Should it work mainly for big corporations and billionaires, including the richest person in the world — or for the rest of us?

SCOOP: Trump administration has been evaluating the costs of destroying or disposing of tens of millions of coronavirus tests that would otherwise be provided free to Americans. My story w/ Carolyn Y. Johnson. www.washingtonpost.com/health/2025/...

What's your sign?

“We must especially beware of that small group of selfish men who would clip the wings of the American eagle in order to feather their own nests.” -FDR, 1941

This administration has convinced half the country that the real problem isn’t billionaires who evade taxes and collect government handouts but the working class who pay taxes and get nothing in return.

CDC source: “We just had word that all our fellows and post doc staff are laid off effective immediately. The famous Epidemic Intelligence Service, aka the Disease Detectives, is no more. That’s 1260 staff. They are calling this ‘Phase 1’.”

One of our supporters shared this with us—people are getting creative tonight!

See, if you wanna learn a lot about apples, BLACK RIVER ORCHARD will get you there. Also, lots of horror! So much horror! But apples. Also apples.

I spend a lot of time thinking about how having money and/or status has solved many executive functioning problems throughout history. If you're wealthy, you can pay people to do executive functioning for you and that's normal. But if you're poor, executive functioning problems show bad character.

Half awake

Currently reading. I love her books. =)

A library blog post in which I sing the praises of @tkingfisher.bsky.social

I'm really excited about this book, and here's why: 1. It was inspired by my teen daughter, the coolest person I know 2. It merges Hannibal with a farmer's market 3. I was horribly depressed when I lived in Athens, and I would've totally fallen for Ash 4. The actual book is GORGEOUS 5. The blurbs!!

Love a No Turn on Red sign. Really takes the pressure off. I’m on vacation now

Suicide Prevention Day should be more about expanding access to healthcare, eliminating poverty, and ending oppression, not just "reach out to your friends" and helpline copypasta.

Hi, this is my first post on here! So to catch up, here are the books I have out this year and one for next year. I've also got cancer but I'm getting better. There's more info on all that on my blog here: marthawells.dreamwidth.org

Rewatching 13 ghosts

Look, I don't want to pressure any of you, but if all 926,164 people currently on Bluesky would just preorder Starter Villain, I could make a really good argument to my publisher that I never need to go on the former Twitter again, and honestly that would be so great
