If you wouldn't be outraged by him drinking a beer next to his teenage brother, maybe take a seat and shut the fuck up www.yahoo.com/entertainmen...

Veneer of discipline? Incredible.

The peerless @cathy.bsky.social suggests that maybe a lot of women avoid marriage because they don't like getting beat up. open.substack.com/pub/cathyrei...

Trump's admission that trials are a barrier to running roughshod over rights is why we should fight coercive plea bargaining, too, and force prosecutors to pick and choose which cases to file charges in, because most charges will force them to go through a trial.

I may have to do a video on this. The episode buys into many the myths of Tesla. He was brilliant. And famous! But he also had some batshit crazy ideas and Wardenclyffe was one of them. Wireless radio power would never have worked because physics.

Does he think he's the author?

This guy & his Renfields perpetually act shocked at the most basic, civics 101 features of the American constiutional order, like they’re crazy novelties dreamed up just to stymie him. “What do you mean people have due process rights? Since when can judges tell the predident he can’t do stuff??”

“We cannot give everyone a trial” is a problem that everyone should recognize right away. It’s how we’ve been running our criminal justice system too; it’s why almost all cases end in a plea bargain. It’s not a good excuse though. We should hire more judges, bring fewer cases, or both.

WSJ EDITORIAL BOARD: “.. Trump thinks he can bully everyone into submission, but he can’t bully Adam Smith, who deals in reality. Markets know tariffs are taxes, and taxes are anti-growth. The Trump tariffs are the biggest economic policy mistake in decades ..” @wsj.com www.wsj.com/opinion/dona...

I'm not an expert in Christianity or anything, but I did read the whole Bible for a course in college, and I'm pretty confident Kevin Robert and Donald Trump embody more or less the antithesis of the values Jesus preached.

Maggie is absolutely right. This is a search for the tech equivalent of the holy grail, and although notionally achievable, in practice, it's likely to be every bit as elusive as the search for a practical fusion reactor. Which is still probably five or more decades away from realisation.

I don’t think we talk enough about the fact that Pete Hegseth doesn’t believe in the germ theory of disease and consequently doesn’t wash after he wipes www.bbc.com/news/world-u...

Are Trumpists capable of writing ANYthing without larding it with propaganda and outright lies?

Is there a German word for “the inability to mask one’s contempt for terrible people?” As a fellow sufferer, I felt a certain kinship with Pope Francis. RIP.

As long as we’re doing French Revolution takes, let’s all remember that Mark Twain’s is undefeated:

I beg reporters to recognize that this is a religion, and to cover it accordingly. Treat pronouncements about magical godlike "AI" the same way you'd treat pronouncements about Jesus or demons.

“Restore more doctrinaire leadership” about THE ACTUAL PAPACY is really a gorgeous combination of the Times’ hick condescension toward religion and its reflexive belief that right-wing politics is the only true and authentic politics
