Yesterday some lawyers were defending DOJ attorneys who refused to say whether any action was taken to unfreeze funds in compliance with the TRO. I wonder if people will be still be defending a brief this patently dishonest about the history of the case.

Welcome to literally every enterprise SaaS sale ever. This is extremely common and I would be shocked if Tesla didn't have exactly the same issue.

i'm gonna be honest, and i know it's sort of extreme, but I don't know how you keep working in that opinion section if you want to be treated as credible. Even subject matter aside--which is obviously ludicrous and propagandistic--you're just announcing that your work is Bezos Approved™️

They notably did not cover Dem victories on close votes like this in the Biden or Obama administrations. It was all "have Democrats signed their own death warrants by passing the hideously unpopular Obamacare?!"

There is a move that I expect the admin to make, and it’s worth anticipating. The move: Find an exception. Some statute, some prosecution, some suit somewhere that can’t be squared with the sweeping language that the Framers used. Then deny the rule. 1/2

My favorite Kurt Vonnegut quote--"you are what you pretend to be"--comes from Mother Night, a novel about an American spy who pretends to be a Nazi propagandist only to realize later in life he was just being a Nazi propagandist

Amazing lack of self-awareness from Clarence Thomas, who takes a dig at Oklahoma's attorney general for appointing a "personal friend and campaign donor" to review Glossip's case. I guess he has realized that friendships and money can influence personal judgment? www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/24p...

In the first Glossip, the conservatives were very catty that Glossip's lawyers were using gamemanship to keep their client alive. Well, that gamemanship not only saved the life of their client, it's going to get him out of prison.

HUGE: The Supreme Court sides with Richard Glossip, holding that prosecutors violated his constitutional rights by failing to correct false testimony at his trial. It directs the Oklahoma courts to vacate his conviction! www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/24p...

Saw a cybertruck and my son asked why Elon Musk would think that looked good and I said "remember that drug they gave you at the hospital when you broke your arm, and you got scared and said everyone had 4 eyes? he takes that all the time"

Even accepting LLMs are capable of this task (lol, no), this is set up to fail, to create excuses for arbitrarily firing people. Nobody was told that was the query; you can't tell "mission-critical" from five bullet points; a snapshot of one week won't tell you that either; the list goes on and on.

The expert: All these plane crashes aren't actually statistically worrisome Me: Oh good, so I shouldn't worry? The expert: No, you should worry lol www.theverge.com/planes/61743...

Humphreys Execution

New — HHS just got another email with guidance stating that they aren’t required to respond to the 5 bullets email, but if they do they should follow specific guidelines including: “Assume that what you write will be read by malign foreign actors and tailor your response accordingly.”

Fort Knox is for tourists.

JUDGE COLLEEN KOLLAR-KOTELLY: Is there an administrator of DOGE at the present time? GOVERNMENT COUNSEL: I don’t know the answer to that

They elected the Jobs President to make everyone rich & safe & now the plan is "fire everyone & trust in God", this is not sustainable

I wish I could go back to just before my idk 7th or 8th birthday and tell my mom thanks but no thanks on that NES.

That's 9 tweets an hour (plus replies). This dude is allegedly running the world's 7th biggest company (by market cap) as well as like 6 other companies and completely overhauling the federal entire government. And high as a fucking kite the whole time.

he is so swagless he has somehow achieved negative drip. this image is like a vortex, i can feel the swag being drained from my own body as i view this

To me, a Nazi salute means, "I want to murder your family." There can be no irony about it: It puts deep anger and hatred in my heart to see it done and I will never forgive anyone who justifies or minimizes it.

Honestly, the framers weren't very explicit on a lot of things, but one thing they were explicit on was there would be no crimes of blood in the United States!

you can tell the people trying to gut the government have never had a real job because they landed on "one micromanaging email" as the thing that would break regular people

Honestly it's surreal watching an insane sleep-deprived drug addict taking over the federal government just by trying random shit and having it mostly work out for him (so far)

That guy is Executive Director, Naval Sea Systems Command. He's basically the guy in charge of making sure the boats are good boats. And he has to send a frantic email out telling everybody to treat DOGE like a phishing attack.

TO: <ALL STAFF> Please respond to this email confirming that I am cool and funny. Failure to do so will be taken as confirmation of the same.

Musk seriously was like "I don't want to see my new baby... but I would like to impregnate you again."

You can only tap dance so much before the checks fail to show up.

WaPo’s use of “unusual” further obscures the blunt racism of the white 3-star’s elevation. “Unusual” is a raised eyebrow; more accurately, this never happens. Until now. To replace a 4-star Black general w/ an undistinguished white 3-star ass-kisser.

Mom, come pick me up, they're coming up with the silliest possible version of the Great Man Theory of History

WaPo Page One: “If you’re going to just yell at me, that’s not going to be an effective town hall,” McCormick said .. “But we’re pissed!” a woman shouted. #GA07 www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

Every so often I remember that Oprah brought us Dr Phil, Dr Oz and The Secret but the only person she brought back to destroy on her show was the guy who pretended to be a worse drug addict than he actually was in a book

Just look at these paragraphs from the AP story. Hegseth called Brown unqualified solely because he's Black. Then they fired him... and replaced him with a white guy so indisputably unqualified that he requires a Presidential waiver. This is what "merit" means to them. apnews.com/article/trum...

Ok, we need a new James Bond AND a new Archbishop of Canterbury, and pretty soon it'll be time for another new Willy Wonka and a new Doctor Who. We need to economise. They should all be amalgamated into a single new character called Archdoctor Bondwonka.

So they removed the black chairman of the Joint Chiefs in the middle of his 4-year tour, without cause, and they're seeking to replace him with a white **retired** Air Force three-star general who lacks the requisite experience as a service chief or combatant commander? Huh, how about that

Judges LOVE when you tell them other judges were being mean to them.

Mind you, this is a request for money to DEMOCRATIC VOTERS.

lol come on guys

lmao, jesus

Doesn't know what AI is, doesn't know what duplicitous means, doesn't know what the CDC does.

1. One note about Judge Ho appointing Paul Clement as amicus: When SCOTUS appoints amicus, they ask amicus to argue a particular position (one that neither party is advancing). Judge Ho's order, conversely, doesn't ask Clement to present a particular position.

Holy crap. At his town hall last night, Rep. Rich McCormick compared *his own constituents* who asked him tough and fair questions to January 6 insurrectionists

it has become a real sticking point for centrist pundits who are kinda fed up with musk (but who want to blame the left and libs for his ascendance) to still insist that he is really smart

This severance edit is why they wanted to ban tiktok 🤣🤣🤣

Man what the fuck did we do lmao look at this shit
