I got the job! I took this picture right after the demo lesson when I wasn’t sure how it went. I was afraid I may have messed up. They gave me the offer 4hrs later. I’m SO glad they didn’t leave me hanging for days. I’m so excited to get to teach Japanese adults conversational English again! 🥰

I’ve been in semi-hibernation but it seems like life may be picking back up again to some degree. I may start teaching English again part time to Japanese business professionals which would feel a little bit like coming home. I’m also starting a big art project I’m very excited about.

Shedded paper probably shouldn’t be this rewarding but I’m excited to start my new project. It’s the distraction I need to not keep getting depressed by the state of world politics. I’m turning my art studio into the biggest project I have ever worked on. First I need to turn this into paper fibres.

I finally got to visit Table Sodam for Korean Food for lunch after my birthday plans were derailed. I had veggie bibimbap & we decided to share some tteokbokki but weren’t expecting to bring half of the food to go but we tapped out. We got served enough for a family. So yummy!

My corner of Ontario is melting & spring seems close enough to grab. I live in nature & when the snow is a few feet deep I feel claustrophobic so this is a relief. I can’t wait to be back in the woods & to be inspired for art. I painted this fox a while back, I call it Heart of the Forest.

I need to figure out how to switch off the US madness towards Canada and make art but I find it very distracting. Have you found anything that works? Birds give me peace to some degree anyway. This swan is a graphite mechanical pencil original on paper.

I love painting owls & other birds. When I started this painting I didn’t have an exact plan, I let the acrylic paint flow & I took inspiration from the playful background I built. I call this The Wisdom of Time. I wish I knew what the future had in store for Canada but all we can do is wait & see.

I’ve had some really interesting conversations the last few days but even though Canadian solidarity warms my heart, the minority of Canadians who believe in gas lighting propaganda is both disappointing and heartbreaking. Canada isn’t immune either sadly. How can we avoid the same path?
