This made me chuckle… #Immunosky 🧪

Fantastic review with an unusual history, growing out of a passionate blog post by @willfondrie.com (willfondrie.com/2024/10/the-...), resulting from a storm (in our teacup) on X during @hupo-org.bsky.social 2024. Great teamwork, authors! pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/...

Considering posting more regularly about the ups and downs, progress, stumbling blocks and dead ends of a new research project. Would anyone be interested in following along? 1️⃣ Sure, if the project is interesting to me. 2️⃣ Booooring, count me out. 📊 Show results

Most Dutch problem ever: group asked to arrange themselves for a photo with a "short people in the front, tall in the back". Everyone looks around, mildly confused. All men and half the women were 6 feet or more (none under 5' 9").

Reviewing 12 research proposals. What a nice way to spend a weekend! Eight down, 4 to go! Then looking through all reviews again...

Fit-for-purpose (or fit-for-pizza, rather)!

No, that is definitely not what I asked for. #AIfail

The JPR issue on Single-Cell Omics is out. As the editorial highlights, understanding biological systems requires direct measurements at all molecular levels. Unlocking the Potential of Single-Cell Omics pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/...

Last week, ELIXIR-DK's @anitamnd.bsky.social joined @thatmariia.bsky.social and @magnuspalmblad.bsky.social for Bioinformatics Open Days in Braga, Portugal. They presented on FAIR research software and led a workshop on software curation in @elixir-europe.org bio.tools registry. Great engagement!

This is indeed a concern.

Listening to an interesting talk on making cacti edible. A food that comes with its own toothpicks! 🌵

Looking forward to a week of learning about the (responsible) application of AI in proteomics from many of the leaders in the field: www.lorentzcenter.nl/httpswww.cec...

Doing the π challenge in Google's calculator - more a test of accurate typing than memory so far...

Happy π-day to everyone (except the τ-ists)!

I use @ucdproteomics.bsky.social 's Youtube tutorial approach for getting diaPASEF mass spec proteomcis data processed with DIANN into Skyline, but has anybody (including you, Brett!) translated the video into a "quick guide" document? The tutorial: www.youtube.com/watch?v=wadt...

Now as the official Special Issue/virtual collection: pubs.acs.org/page/jprobs/.... Great thanks to all authors and reviewers for their awesome contributions to this Special Issue!

Today we celebrate the 100th birthday of Margaret Dayhoff, founder of bioinformatics and creator of the first sequence databases. Her legacy inspires generations of scientists in bioinformatics, proteomics, and computational biology. bit.ly/4hmTdLl #WomenInScience #Bioinformatics #Proteomics

When you've been in the cell culture hood all day and finally get to take off your gloves:

I am excited to share this new paper out in JPR - "MS-RT: A Method for Evaluating MS/MS Clustering Performance for Metabolomics Data." This work introduces the MS-RT method to assess MS/MS clustering accuracy on metabolomics data. doi.org/10.1021/acs....

Grumpy old man-warning, but today was the third time in six months where I have seen the "special conference rate" at a meeting venue being SIGNIFICANTLY higher than the regular rate. In this case, the cheaper rate was even available on the hotel's website. This has all the hallmarks of a scam.
