Cutting down a forest to build a data center just so ai bots can gas each other up

Might have stumbled upon something of a georeferencing hack for historic maps. ArcGIS typically lags hard once I have a bunch of control points set, but I can speed it back up by exporting a geoTIFF once I have it in place and use that instead of chewing memory to continually stretch the original.

A lot to enjoy about that Illini womens hoops win, but the clutch free throws to never let it get stressful at the end takes the cake.

Gonna assume that the forced update to rename the Gulf of Mexico is also what is messing up the map levels for the USGS National Map on ArcGIS. My computer's getting old, but I assure you it can handle more details than this on the screen.

Every now and then I remember that former Illini Glenn Foster died incredibly suspiciously in police custody and I'll go looking for updates. Hoping that one day his family will find answers and something resembling justice. fightbacknews.org/articles/fam...

Suitable time to unveil the next upcoming book that will contain my maps. Go Birds.

KC o-line looked a lot better when they had former Illini Nick Allegretti on it, all I'm saying

Putting together a working group to design a bowling alley that gameplays like the Cracker Barrel peg board

Way to entirely miss the whole point the show tries to convey

I really don't like how the file extension for Adobe Illustrator is .ai. I used to be able to correspond with "if the maps look good I'll go ahead and send the ai files." Now I look like a bit of a dork typing the whole name out every time but no way I'm letting my hard work be conflated with AI.

Going back to 1942 and getting rid of the Navajo Code Talkers program and then bouncing further back to unenlist the USCTs because sorry can't have any DEI in the military. The strength of our armed forces has long been a product of its diversity.

It's absurdly late, in both seasons really, for Panini to finally be releasing last year's draft class, but nice to have some Illini representation in each

Oh this is fascinating (I hope my strained computer can keep up with it on the fly, it already hates my ocean layer)

I have a couple long term projects in the process and a few drafts with authors for review but for the first time in months (years?) I'm looking at an empty to-do list for the day. I guess it's time to start soliciting. Who needs maps made?

Still workshopping a Lost Cause joke about South Carolina complaining that Illinois gets to sub in fresh players

Get your TDAP shot! You know what's not fun? Wounding yourself outside and then googling tetanus prognosis while wondering why you didn't bother getting a booster since high school. Or so I've heard.

Umm, excuse me Spotify, it's not just a phase

Planting the flag at midfield? Meh. Claim those uprights.

I mean this as a compliment to my library to say my daughter & I check out books a quarter of the time on our weekly visits. Storytime, crafts, courtyard playground, interactive offerings without any screens, a clean place to expand potty training, and remembering oh yeah we can take home a stack.

Inadvertently created some pretty slick minimalist cartography while building base layers for a map project on the Battle of the Head of Passes

My latest map project to hit the shelves! Seventeen original campaign and battle maps accompany this Stones River study. www.savasbeatie.com/hell-by-the-...

Featuring two books for which I made the maps!

One of my favorite ways of fine-tuning a map: using LIDAR to bump the modern railroad over to its historic route.

Have yourself a game, Chase Brown. I think parallels are rather overdone but a dual college color match auto. *chefs kiss*
