Driving home tonight on a dark, hilly, country road, I round a turn and see a truck with no lights, sitting in my lane with little time to react. I swerve into oncoming traffic, almost colliding head-on with a huge pickup. Missed by inches, but my driver’s side mirror is gone. I'm still here too.

I learned my youngest sister had a stroke this week. After all she’s been through, I feel like I’ve failed and haven’t been able to support her. Despite the mounting stress, I’m surprised I haven’t crumbled, but I keep pushing forward because I have no choice but to be resolute.
