I'm on the lookout for a talented reporter to come and work with the team at @bylinetimes.bsky.social as we continue to grow. Please get in touch at [email protected] if you're interested

I’m thrilled to share my first byline for National Geographic! I delve into what caused gluten to develop such a bad rap over the past 10+ years and why the gluten-free diet isn’t as healthy as it seems.

Something really stupid is going to happen and it’s going to be so stupid that it’s the last thing that ever happened and then, later, when octopuses take the earth, and find our few remains, they’re going to be like what stupid shit did these stupid fucks do

🔴‘My Son Was Murdered or Sex-Trafficked and the Police Don’t Care’ - Julie Davis Part Four of a five-part special investigation by @danevanswrites.bsky.social, @tomlatchem.bsky.social & Nuria Villa into a missing person’s case with dark criminal undertones bylinetimes.com/2025/01/31/m...

This is both an incredibly niche thing but I think it should be more of a thing. Caffè Nero subscribes to the British Newspaper Archive so it’s all free on their wifi. There. I said it.

Can’t wait to spend a life changing amount of money on a robot that looks like it knows what I did and hates me for it

The devastation on its way is unimaginable - like nothing humanity has ever witnessed before - and everyone will wish they had been climate activists and ‘hysterics’ when they had the chance. We are in a moment of unprecedented stupidity

My gluten-free label reading guide is live! I explain how to tell if a packaged food in the US is gluten-free/celiac-safe, the top gluten red flags to look for, and which ingredients are commonly thought to contain gluten but actually don’t. celiacselfcare.christinaheiser.com/p/gluten-fre...

all the way up. You’re on ten on your guitar...where can you go from there? Where? MARTY: I don’t know... NIGEL: Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is if we need that extra.. push over the cliff...you know what we do? MARTY: Put it up to eleven. NIGEL: Eleven. Exactly. One louder.

And where reputable journalists and thinkers go, so do elected officials. I’ve been getting asked lately about a more serious + systemic migration to Bluesky among electeds. Idk the answer but it highlights how much of a breaking point misinfo & throttling has become for Twitter(& other platforms)

When I asked Bluesky users why they left X, many said they didn’t want their posts training AI. But with Bluesky’s open API, anyone can scrape posts for that purpose. A HuggingFace employee just shared a dataset of 1M posts. The reality: if you post online, assume it’ll be used to train AI.
