I’m not saying, I’m just saying, but I woke up nauseated today and it’s only gotten worse as the day has gone on.

A+ timeline, BlueSky.

I’ve got two WIPs going right now, and one of them I am so geeked out about. Excitedly sat down last night to work on it and my brain went “meh”. How do I get around that?! I *want* to write this! #writing #writers #booksky

I saw Wicked on Friday and I haven’t posted about it yet because it’s become my whole personality and I can’t form any coherent, useful thoughts that could add up to a review. It’s just cynthiaerivocynthiaerivoozdustcynthiaerivodefyinggravitymichellyeohcynthiacynthiacynthia in my head all day long.

"Repeat after me: there was no 'landslide'. There was no 'blowout'. There was no 'sweeping' mandate given to Trump by the electorate. The numbers don’t lie." My new Guardian op-ed on the new GOP election lie - and why it's important to rebut it! I brought (lots of) receipts:

the frenzy over the hunter biden pardon is a good reminder that the press knows how to make something a scandal and has decided that nothing trump does is truly deserving of that treatment

Some day I’m going to quit my job and make charcuterie boards for a living.

That Michigan win just redeemed the entire season for me. Did have to explain the concept of sportsmanship to my 5 year old after, so there’s that. #GoBlue

Throwback to the March for Science—an inspiring day standing up for facts, progress, and the importance of evidence-based policy. #MarchForScience #ScienceMatters

ME: Hello Darkness, my old friend. DARKNESS: We went out for wings *once*

This is so inspiring. I have to finish writing my book because someone is looking for it.

introduce yourself with four albums

Ahem.

Ok. I’ve never seen Wicked. I am familiar with the biggest songs, but I’ve never listened to the full soundtrack. I just listened to Cynthia Erivo’s version of Defying Gravity from the soundtrack. When I tell you I SOBBED.

No one can cover Celine the way Kelly can: youtu.be/Ao5DdGmOfzk?...

If y’all need me, I’m going to be watching Kelly Clarkson’s Kellyoke of “All By Myself” on repeat for the next 5 to 7 business days.

Last night my daughter was singing The Muffin Man, but she’s updated the lyrics: Have you heard of the Muffin Man? The Muffin Man? The Muffin Man? Have you heard of the Muffin Man? He takes the muffins away.

Meeeeeeeee

Uuuggghhh. As if it has to be one or the other. This might be news to some people, but you *can* listen to people in both faculty lounges AND assembly lines. In fact, you should. Particularly if you are the junior Senator from Michigan.

Ope.

My now 5-year-old was like this for a couple of years. She was 8 months old when Covid hit, and did not know that people could appear at the door for reasons other than dropping off food.

I folllow/read/listen to @joycewhitevance.bsky.social for many reasons, including her excellent take on how the patriarchy is denying us our just desserts.

There is no better high than a meeting you don’t want to attend getting canceled.

I was in academia (grad school, adjusting) for nearly 10 years, and a couple of years ago left to pursue a career in publishing and get back to my first love: creative writing. It’s hard to make that shift mentally. Any #writeradvice from others who made a similar jump? #writersky
