www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVxD... SailorSat emulated the communication chip on some Namco Systems which gets Driver's Eyes running with all 3 screens. This builds on work I did some years back to get all 3 screens displaying, but I wasn't able to figure out the comms chip back then.

One thing I *really* don't like about this platform is how long / verbose the profile links are bsky.app/profile/mame... is messy while on Twitter or Twitch twitter.com/mamehaze www.twitch.tv/mamehaze are all you need why doesn't this place allow a simple /mamehaze ?

www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qa5p... Mawasunda!! is another Playstation arcade based addition that will be playable in MAME 0.275, this runs on Taito's G-Net hardware and is a mini-game collection.

Here's a video showing Primal Rage 2 running in MAME as well as some of the other Playstation arcade hardware fixes that will be in MAME 0.275 (due in the next week or so) www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cyfz...

www.youtube.com/watch?v=qud5... The Max Heart (SuperXaviX based plug and play) running in MAME. It does weirdly freeze after 15 minutes as if no buttons were pressed, even if the controls are hooked up and the game is playable, that needs looking into.

So a while back I picked up what I thought were all the Konami / Hudson Poems hardware titles and made a start on the emulation. Turns out I was mistaken, and I hadn't found them all yet. Despite this one not appearing in any lists I saw of Poems hardware units, it has a Poems logo in the corner.

github.com/mamedev/mame... this MAME commit from smf finally brings Primal Rage 2 to working state in official MAME releases, so it will be working in the build at the end of this month. No more badly hacked up old ancient MAME versions needed.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=pc_X... Here's a video for the recently dumped JAKKS Pacific Disney Pixar Classics plug and play in MAME, with bonus footage of Power Rangers to the Rescue and Spiderman Masked Menace (the latter 2 are later hardware which needs more emulation work)

I've been very busy adding Plug and Play stuff to MAME, not all of it working, but here's a video of the recently added "Minna no Tetris" from Epoch in 2007 www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJma... This must be one of the best Plug and Play devices we've emulated in MAME.

So it's 2025 and I've started adding shots to the 2025 page on my site mamedev.emulab.it/haze/2025-ti... I've decided anything submitted in 2024 (regardless of when it's included) goes on the 2024 page, anything submitted on/after Jan 1 goes on the 2025 page.

Keeping the ball rolling with JAKKS Pacific stuff, here's Power Rangers S.P.D. running in MAME; by far the trickiest of the lot for Team Europe to dump so far, and one that opens up the possibility of emulating many of the other JAKKS games of the period www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mDG...

www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwd9... MAME video for the newly emulated Pirates of the Caribbean Plug and Play from JAKKS Pacific

www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYH5... Here's a video of the newly dumped JAKKS Pacific Superman Plug & Play running in MAME

some smaller XaviX fixes. a priority glitch was fixed allowing menu to show on Excite Golf a video mode only used for text dialog backgrounds on Excite Stadium was added XaviX 2nd Gen opcode allowing sprites to display in Ongeki Battle! Kamen Rider Hibiki: Kimero! Ikki Kasei no Kata

I've been playing around a bit more with SuperXaviX emulation in MAME and found ways to boot more of the Super TV-PC cartridges. Here is Doraemon Chō Nōryoku Game Collection (no inputs yet)

I've been looking more at XaviX, specifically SuperXaviX and have started to improve the bitmap mode support it has, along with the additional 'bitmap plotter' hardware extension. It's not perfect by any means, but the Super TV-PC units show a little more in places now.

I think of all the things I've worked on for Evercade these 4 Toaplan carts will remain my favourites. Just amazing games, which required some significant optimization to run well. It's a shame there was no Performan (licensing) or DT7 (emulation not finished) but still, quality.

The 2012 Boku wa Plarail Untenshi Shinkansen de Ikou! was dumped. Unlike the 2015 'Plus' version which runs on newer unSP2.0 based SunPlus/GeneralPlus hardware, this uses the older SPG243 tech

github.com/mamedev/mame... The MCU for Sun/Atari Kangeroo was dumped. People who know the game well have always considered it 'broken' in MAME because it was awarding big bonuses too easily, meaning you could rack up high scores and extra lives far more easily than on real hw.

got another Duel Masters / Duel Station. This one came with the cartridge (maybe the only cartridge released for it, not sure)

I got the 90-in-1 version of this silly GameU+ handheld. I don't think it has anything on it that the 108-in-1 and 50-in-1 units are lacking, but a lot of preservation is about trying to build a complete picture of what was available.

As the DT7 driver is now in I've decided to try improving it a bit. I added 'rowselect' to the TX tilemap, so the course selection highlight works properly. Game / audio still crashes eventually though. Korean region shows 'Car Fighting' as a title instead of DT7

The flashing effect of the HUD / player graphic when you start a round in Seibu's Dead Angle has been emulated. You can see a real hw video here to see what was missing in MAME www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTOO... The bit was already documented as 'toggling on and off at start of game' but not hooked up

The preliminary driver for Toaplan's DT7 (Dynamic Trial 7) was merged. This is a Toaplan prototype from shortly before they went under. It has 2 screen output (and link capability for more) Emulation still has game-breaking issues though, which I'm hoping now may see progress.

Welcome new followers (I'll do some follow-backs shortly) The sound ROM was dumped for the 1982 Spanish Arcade game Night Mare and AJR hooked it up. The sound board is also used by some pinballs www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-pU... It still sounds rather rough though, I don't know if that's correct.

If anybody hasn't been following, I've also been throwing up some screenshots on my old site at mamedev.emulab.it/haze/2024-a-... to show bits and pieces that have happened in MAME throughout 2024. A lot is missing, as it's mostly things I've captured while testing, but it's not a bad collection.

Starting off with not the most interesting of things, but Team Europe bought an Eprom programmer capable of dumping the XA chips found on some IGS boards. They were able to verify Icescape uses the same XA code as Fearless Pinocchio. Controls (touchscreen?) still needs emulating though.
