#Israel is an apartheid state committing a #genocide in Gaza and ethnic cleansing in the West Bank. It has been enthusiastically supported by the US, the UK and much of the West for decades financially, diplomatically and militarily. Yet it will fail in its aims, because #Palestine will be free.

The West - largely led fy the US - has demonised Russia, and previously the USSR, for decades. Even as they were necessary allies in WW2. Same with the West's relationship with China - again largely led by the US. Lesson here is if you treat *anyone* as an enemy long enough, they become that.

I cannot dispute that Russia actively meddled in Brexit nor that it is actively meddling in the US. If it did and it is, that is a master stroke of non-violent conquest of its enemies. But remember it has done it by exploiting these societies incohesion. We lost, they didn't win.

Israel is violating the ceasefire agreement. Nothing justifies what Israel is doing to Gaza & the West Bank. GENOCIDE is not self-defence. ETHNIC CLEANSING is not self-defence. APARTHEID is not democracy. IMPERIALISM is not diplomacy. COLONIALISM is a racist land grab.

I feel sympathy for, and solidarity with, my American friends and family - they are trapped in a situation they are powerless to counter. The checks provided for in the constitution are either hijacked or are in the process of being eroded. When does it get called a crisis?

400bn euros is what has been committed to #Ukraine since 2022 - that is easily twice its GDP. The EU as a whole as put up about 130bn of that. I wonder if the EU had put together an EU Army really, how much that would have cost? And whether that would now be something helpful to have?

America so focused on military supremacy ($900bn defence budget) that it didn't pay attention to democratic health (I still don't know whose job it is to learn and adapt the democracy of most places) - as though that would somehow just take care of itself. It has been taken.

Trump is showing up America's democracy for what it really is - an easily gamed and hijackable farce. Courtiers playing at being congressional representatives. Someone who wants to behave like a king, signing 'royal' proclamations and decrees and who has basically legal immunity from anything.
