🏆 3rd trophy (10 drafts) in #MTGxFinalFantasy limited. This UW Y'shtola control deck was a blast to play and I had a tonne of close games where I stabilized at a low life total and was able to turn the corner and secure the victory. Y'shtola is a fun build-around and can really pop off. #mtg

All the tulip craze surrounding Final Fantasy obscures one simple fact: it is a banger of a limited format. And it is very different from what we are used to in one aspect - balance. Every color pair is very playable. This means you need to change how you use data. 1/9

Easy 7-1 with a WB tokens deck, held together by the absurdity of Yawgmoth. Card is just broken in half. Games where I didn't draw my bomb were still pretty smooth - Cornered by Black Mages did a tonne of work for me. #mtg #mtglimited #mtgfin

Man, life has been busy - I'm going into this set COLD with only @lordsoflimited.bsky.social and @chordocalls.bsky.social podcasts to help. In my first Final Fantasy draft RW was wide open and I went 7-1 with a pretty obnoxious beatdown deck. Samurai's Kanata was MVP many games. #mtg #mtglimited

I think Tarkir Dragonstorm might just be a bad draft format. Reminds me way too much of Dominaria United multicolor slush. Which is not my favorite type of draft environment (only thing worse is Bloomburrow-style linear formats IMO). Coming off of DSK & DFT this is a big let down. #mtglimited

Surrounded by Idiots, Thomas Erikson. 0/10, DNF. This book was a slog, and I ultimately flamed out halfway through after getting thoroughly annoyed with the premise of the book. Generalizing people into 4 broad personality types simply did not work for me and does not feel realistic. (1/2) #books

Before the coffee gets cold - Toshikazu Kawaguchi (6/10) A series of micro-time travel vignettes set in modern day Japan. Each is grounded in relationships and set in a coffee shop. It's a cute read and the characters are lovely, but not overly deep. 🪐📚💙 #scifi #books

Orzhov draft skeleton #MTGTDM BW in Tarkir looks to be based around go wide aggression, relying heavily on white's deep roster of commons that want to be turned sideways. Endure on a lot of the cheap creatures creates small bodies and I still think that will play out better than counters. (1/4)

Duty Beyond Death looks terrifying in any deck with Mobilize cards. Sac'ing a mobilize token to completely ruin trades and permanently buff the rest of your team seems like big game. #mtg #mtglimited
