If you want to report the U.S. Department of Education for discriminatory actions, their zip code is 20202. It is discriminatory not to meet the needs of students with disabilities. It is discriminatory not to dismantle systemic racism. If U.S. Dept of Ed is not doing this work, this is a problem.

If you’re at home today, not spending money, and feeling bored, you might be wondering, “What could I do?” Well, task one: you can make random reports on this website: enddei.ed.gov

"Children often have wonderful ideas that may not be new to the universe but are new to them, and how they express themselves is uniquely theirs." ❤️

Would be unfortunate if this new "report your school's DEI" website by US Department of Education was flooded with with complaints about how censoring DEI hurts students/has a negative effect on learning (might want to avoid using real info, because you know, authoritarianism). enddei.ed.gov

Why haven't we seen more backlash against the GOP's proposed cuts to Medicaid? One reason is that people may not know they're on Medicaid, because Medicaid has different names in different states (see 🧵). Another is that some people may not realize that they (or their kids) could qualify.

Every single philanthropic institution needs to do this rather than retracting right now. abcnews-go-com.cdn.ampproject.org/c/s/abcnews....

Do your students write to reflect on their math experiences? Reflection “provides a platform to recognize strengths, acknowledge areas of growth, and celebrate achievements.” Read more about math reflection here: www.edutopia.org/article/refl... @nctm.org @mathedleaders.bsky.social #elemmathchat

Why we have and need a US Department of Education 🚨 New from @brookings.edu scholars, an initiative to walk through the federal role in education, particularly the ongoing need for a Department of Education and all it does www.brookings.edu/collection/w...

The National Science Foundation fired all its experts. The National Science Foundation. Fired. All of its. Experts. And they weren't even told to! The leadership worked toward the Fuhrer and went beyond the cuts demanded of them in anticipation of many, many more firings—up to *half* its staff.

“It’s ironic,” one researcher said. “They’re calling themselves the Department of Government Efficiency. But they’re just wasting money.” Via @jillbarshay.bsky.social for @hechingerreport.org hechingerreport.org/proof-points... #research #education #K12

In this article, we examine uptake of rough draft math teaching practices by pre-service teachers and master’s students. It is freely available at the link!

It is perfectly legal to know your rights and to educate others about them, too. EVERYONE in the United States, citizen or not, has rights. I will not allow this administration to intimidate us from helping you know about them. Here’s our shareable guide ⬇️: (pt. 1/2)

They are setting the pretext that Trump is a King and has the ultimate authority. #TakeItToTheStreets #3E

I saw a person on the internet claiming that the best English word is “pizzazz.” What say you?

It goes without saying, but if you see the need to access any data about American education from the federal government, you should go download it now. Like stop reading this post and do it immediately.

my mom thinks that due to the rise of all of this fascism, I should hesitate to post my objections due to fear of retaliation… professors are under attack. are others limiting what they post?

And they are ready to stop pretending that education reform is about the achievement gap.

All practice guides are in the public domain. Just in case... osf.io/dk4r5/

"federal officials take oaths to uphold the Constitution of the United States, not the individual who happens to be president at a particular moment, and they must uphold those laws whether or not consistent with the wishes or executive orders issued by the president."

Good morning to everyone except the folks at Google Maps who changed the name of the Gulf of Mexico

You are not powerless, and he is not unstoppable. Look at, and learn from, the funding freeze and how quickly he was forced to surrender.

With the Eagles obliterating the Chiefs, now is a good time to remind everyone that the last time the Eagles won the Super Bowl they refused to go to the White House because of Donald.

Know what else knocks out cancer? NIH FUNDING.

not paying indirect costs for research is like only paying the players in the Super Bowl. can't have a Super Bowl without coaches, referees, security, janitors, announcers, stadium staff, and a stadium - and you can't have research without supporting people and facilities

I highly recommend this article.

About to land at PHL after my time at AMTE. I do not care about the Super Bowl very much. I do not get on an airplane again until March 21!

Heavy sigh….

I believe!

UW-Madison on proposed NIH indirect cost cap: “This proposed change to NIH funding–UW–Madison’s largest source of federal support–will significantly disrupt vital research activity and delay lifesaving discoveries and cures related to cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, and much more.” 1/x

Research universities are often the largest employers in their region. They are often the primary health care providers to communities. This funding shift will not only reduce US research leadership, it will put working people out of work and reduce healthcare access.
